He stared out the window with a far off look in his gaze, not seeming to notice the snow that cascaded from the heavens above, turning the city of Seoul into a winter wonderland. He still thought about the brunette he had brushed shoulders with three weeks ago.He held the cup of hot cocoa in his hands, letting it warm his palms.
Her presence seemed to have taken up the entirety of him for he thought of her every second of the day.Had it been her?Had it been his beloved that he'd spent these 5 years waiting for?Or had he simply fallen for another woman? No.He loved her.He couldn't have moved on.Her smile and laugh still haunted his dreams every night. The very mention of her name still brought the uncontrollable flutter in his stomach and the rapid pounding of his heart against his chest.Even now,as he thought of her,a smile graced his lips, bringing about warmth to his cheeks and ears.
"You know,it's rare to see you smile these couple years."
Wonwoo's gaze drifted to the familiar man before him, nodding in acknowledgment before staring back out the window.
"What's got you smiling?"the brunette man asked, slipping into the cushioned seat in front of him, leaning forward over the table to look out the window where Wonwoo stared at.
"You're checking out a girl?"he asked, leaning back into the chair.
Wonwoo looked at him, frowning, the smile that had settled into his features erased.
"No."He said."Just thinking about someone."he said,taking a sip of the hot cocoa.
"Thinking about that girl?"the man asked confused as he looked at the girl outside the window across the street leaning against the faded red brick wall in curiosity. She didn't look appealing to him.
Though not blaming her,she was clad in many layers of clothing followed by a thick winter coat,a scarf wrapped tightly around her neck and a black wool beanie sitting atop her curly blonde hair.He squinted at the girl in scrutiny, not seeing what Wonwoo found appealing about the girl.If anything, she looked like a tall, walking penguin with blonde hair.
Wonwoo sighed in irritation, placing the mug on the coaster.
"No,Taehyung.I'm thinking about my non-existing love life."Wonwoo said sarcastically.
Taehyung held the newly brewed cup of cocoa to his lips choking on the warm liquid as he heard Wonwoo speak.
Wonwoo's eyebrows furrowed in concern at the coughing man across the table from him.
"Sorry.Just haven't heard about her in a while."Taehyung lied smoothly.
Taehyung had been told to keep Hyejin's return to Korea a secret.Especially since she didn't want anymore drama.Or maybe it was the fear of threats in their mail. And with her son,she wasn't taking any chances of revealing herself yet.Taehyung, though hesitant, respected her decision and has told no one about her.Instead making the excuse that he had to meet a childhood friend when in reality,it was Hyejin he was meeting.
Wonwoo nodded, taking a sip of his cocoa, choosing to brush it off.
After drinking for a few minutes in silence,Taehyung spoke up.
"So,what'd you want to meet about?"Taehyung questioned, delicately placing down the mug to the side, leaning forward with his hands clasped in front of him.
Wonwoo looked at Taehyung in the eye, taking one last sip of the cocoa before placing it down on the coaster once more.
"Nothing much.Just wanted to talk about Hyejin. You were close to her when she was still here."Wonwoo said softly, eyes begging for i formation on his beloved.Any at all.
