Chapter Thirteen

I'm pretty much sure it was Mr. Clark whom I saw. I can't be wrong. We've been working for almost three years and within those years, I have come to familiarize his physique, his facial features in different views.

Mr. Clark suddenly disappeared without any formal excuse. And now, I just saw him in this world. It's just so unbelievable.

"Makakapunta na rin ako sa lugar na gusto kong puntahan."

"Saan po yun?" Manghang tanong ko. Ngumiti siya at tiningnan ako direkta sa mata.

"I know you also want to go there, soon, you'll be there in a snap."

That's it! The words he told me the day before he left all make sense now. So all along, he was referring to this world without my slight knowledge.

But why is he here? Did that old woman also granted his wish? But how come?

"Any problem?"

Benjamin's voice drags me out of my thoughts.

I immediately face him and smile reassuringly. He may have noticed I was spacing out, overthinking about something.

"N-no. Nothing."

But he seems not satisfied with my response because his eyes become intriguing as his forehead creases.

"Are you sure?" His words sound so concerned, very opposed to what his dark expression is telling me.

How can he do that at the same time? His expression seems like a wild animal ready to devour its prey, yet his words are as gentle as a lamb.

"Yes, Sir," I just simply said, while tapping my fingers on my thighs.

"Stop that," he exclaims, looking straightly at me, his upper body almost facing me.

Stop what? I unknowingly raise my brows at his remark.

"Pardon, Sir?" tanong ko, my upper body is now facing him too.

Now, we're casually facing each other. Awkwardness is nowhere, miraculously.

"You better stop calling me 'Sir'," He says.

"Why? We happened to be co-workers in your very own company, S-sir."

Damn, I stuttered at my last word.

And as an impulse reaction, I unconsciously bite my lips, but heck, I should have controlled that.

My heart suddenly starts pumping so hard, probably getting ready for an upcoming storm, when I notice how his gaze goes down to my lips.

"Everyone is calling me that. Besides, my name sounds... good from that mouth of yours."

I cough tremendously, and in a swift, I feel Benjamin's palm softly patting my back. When my throat already feels okay, he then wipes my leg thoroughly using a towel but stops midway when he maybe notices the intensity of my stare.
