Chapter Fifty-nine

"... I am in my father's office."

Another level of worry looped around my already anxious-filled mind. Apprehensive questions began flooding and invading my thoughts. Why is he there? Did he already face his father? What did it turn out? Nagkainitan ba sila ng ulo?

"Why? Why are you there? Did you already know the absurd articles circulating the internet? Face the authorities Zion and prove you are innocent to that illegal---" I was close to crying again but Zion silenced me off.

"Shh, everything is under control. My father already called a good lawyer," he said in a monotone.

Wait... his father did what?

"We are good now, I guess," he uttered in a light tone. I heard him heaved a deep sigh of relief and from the background, I overheard manly voices welcoming a new guest. I guess that's the lawyer Zion was pertaining to.

Gumaan ang pakiramdam ko sa nalaman. At last! He finally did it himself. The cuff that has been tying him from the past is now broken. It was no easy for him yet he did it! I couldn't contain how happy I am for what he becomes now.

"I find this really sketchy! Zion wasn't in the scene when his friends got caught in the act. It has been two years since he last went into trouble. Why is he still going to be under investigation?" Anne commented, her eyes fixed on the road.

I am sure it's just a false allegation. I am confident about that plus when I got to know earlier that he's already in good terms with his father, my worry vanished away.

I know he wouldn't get much affected anymore. He's healed. He has accepted and forgave himself from the past, and also the one who he thinks made him that way.

"Gaga, makakalusot 'yan! Matagal na sanang bulok sa kulungan si Zion kung wala 'yang koneksiyon dati. Mas lalo pa ata ngayong maayos na sila ng kalbo niyang ama," Yma retorted, rolling her eyes. On her lap was a big junk food she found in Ryan's car.

"Anong makakalusot? Did you mean Zion really is guilty for using drugs? But he's always with Ash all the time!" Anne said, now facing the curse-machine opponent.

Yes, he was always with me and he's open in telling me everything he did worst in the past, but I did not remember him saying something about drugs.

"I did not say that bitch! I just meant that no matter how many fuck-up times he gets accused, he would make a way out of it!" Yma yelled, some of the pieces of junk food flew out from her mouth.

"You are so gross! Act femininely, will you?" Anne grossed out by the pieces of grinded food flew to her.

Nakaka-stress talaga sila pero minsan matatawa na lang ako sa kung anong pagkakaibigan meron sila.

"My mouth, my say. My body, my rules!" Yma still argued, throwing the chips at Anne until it got scattered on the car floor.

"Tumigil nga kayo, ang iingay niyo. At ikaw Yma, linisan mo talaga kotse ko mamaya," Ryan finally interjected between their rebuttals. Kapag talaga sasakyan na eh.

"What? I cleaned your condo last night for fuck's sake! Tapos ako---" Nanlaki ang mga mata ni Yma at agad na tinakpan ang bibig. Tatlong pares ng mata ang agad na tumutok sa kanya. Ryan, however, got silent.

Something fishy huh?

We somehow didn't make a fuss about them--- or so I thought. Anne and Chanel are probably intrigued by now but they chose to keep silent, as if they didn't mind what had just slid from Yma's mouth.
