Slightly clingy reader warning, hahah

The dark clouds in the sky spit snow onto the frozen earth below, piling up in driveways and dangling across tree braches. Icicles sparkled and glinted in the tiniest shimmer of light, like big shards of crystal clear glass.
You were outside in a huge puffer coat, tiny gloves pulled over your hands and boots hugged tightly to your feet.
Snowflakes powdered across your eyelashes as you waited patiently.
You did silly simple things to pass the time, such as amuse yourself with the puffs of grey that emitted from your mouth with every breath.
A smile tickled your cheeks once a bright red car pulled in front of you, a green wreath sitting promptly on the hood of the vehicle.
As you approached the car, a tall skeleton ran out from the driver's seat.

"WAITWAITWAITWAIT--!!" Papyrus screamed, pulling gently on the handle of the passenger door, throwing it wide open.
"OKAY, NOW."

You giggled, "Thank you!"

"YOU'RE VERY WELCOME!"

The interior was boiling warm, assumably for your arrival since Papyrus never minded the cold. You plucked off your gloves, allowing your hands to thaw.

The skeleton sat down quickly in his seat, reminding you to buckle up. "I'M SORRY, I DIDN'T GREET YOU PROPERLY!"

"Aw," The click of your seat belt satisfied him, "That's okay, Papyrus."

"HELLO, Y/N, HOW ARE YOU TODAY?" His car began to advance forward, his foot on the pedals. You noticed the careful tendencies he developed when driving, unlike the way he cooked.

Feeling very safe, you responded.
"I'm okay, I've been excited for this all afternoon! How're you?"

He nodded vigorously, "I HAVE ALSO BEEN LOOKING FORWARD FOR THIS!! THANK YOU FOR BEING MY DATE THIS EVENING!"

Blush creeped across your nose and cheeks. "Yeah, well thanks for inviting me!"

His gloved hands gripped the wheel, some orange dappling across his skull. You realized his skinny legs were fitted with black dress pants, a brown overcoat draped over his shoulders. Your own legs displayed the bottom half of your semi-formal outfit, pumping adrenaline through your body. Never before had you gone to a party, at least not like this one, with tuxedos and gowns and lots of breathtaking people.

"Papyrus..." You began slowly, "Will there be lots of people at this party...?"

His eyes flitted toward you, leaving the road only for a second before snapping back.
"I THINK SO, BUT DON'T WORRY! METTATON IS HOSTING IT, SO THERE'S A GOOD CHANCE OUR FRIENDS MIGHT BE THERE!!"

You grinned warmly at the thought of Undyne and Alphys, dressed in cute dresses or maybe one of them in a suit, dancing awkwardly yet with enthusiasm among the crowds. "I hope Undyne and Alphys are there."

"ME TOO!!"

"Did Sans not want to go?" You asked, already knowing the answer.

"NO, HE SAID THAT'S NOT HIS TYPE OF SCENE." His brother grumbled.

You chuckled, "Yeah, I expected that."

*Time Skip~!*

The heat of the car sung you to sleep, the warmth acting like a large blanket wrapping around your form.
Papyrus caught sight of you, eyes closed delicately and head bobbing slightly.

"Oh!" He whispered, smiling blissfully. His gaze returned to the road, "Y/N... I have something I want to tell you."

The fact that you were only in a light sleep both scared and comforted him; there was a good chance you could hear what he was about to say, but he wasn't sure if he wanted you to or not.
