Chapter 5.
*****
I took a deep breath as I tried to put my arm around Adrian but my arms just fell onto his bare bed making me open my eyes. He was not there. What time was it? I sat up rubbing my eyes and looked around his room. There was no sound coming from the bathroom. I grabbed my phone and noted that it was just after 11 AM. Why had he not woken me up? I climbed out of his bed decided to take a shower but I paused seeing some clothing on the dresser. I walked over and raised my brows noticing that it was clothing from my apartment. Adrian went to my apartment? Wait. My keys –
I frowned as I patted the pockets of the pants I had gotten from Maximilian. Maximilian must have found my keys. They basically broke into my house instead of waking me to fetch my clothing. I groaned dropping my head back as I thought about how awkward it was going to be having a conversation about privacy with whoever had fetched the clothes, even though I was grateful.
Grabbing the clothing, I made my way to the bathroom to get cleaned up before I made my way downstairs but stopped as I bumped into Maximilian who was coming upstairs.
"Oh, you look better." He said.
"Did you –"
"Your keys." He pulled them out of his pocket.
"Why?" I frowned at him as I grabbed them.
"Aiden said not to wake you." He said, "And I left my jacket at your house last time." He added.
"Still." I frowned.
"Fine, I'll ask you before I take you keys next time." He said. "But I picked well, right?" I looked down at the oversized grey t-shirt and faded old track pants I was wearing before I frowned back at him and he laughed running back down the stairs.
"This is not funny." I called out.
"You're the one that always wants to be ready to fight anytime, those are perfect for training all day: it's comfortable, very easy to move in and you don't have to worry about ruining those because they're already ugly!" His voice disappeared down the hall and I glared at where he had been standing.
I really wanted to beat him up so much...
I shook my head annoyed and made my way downstairs to find Adrian. I searched the living room and kitchen and then the gym before I went to the theatre but found Maximillian and our friends playing games.
"Has anyone seen Adrian?" I asked.
"He said he had some work to do." Thandi replied, "Wanna play?" She added holding her controller out to me.
"Not right now. Work?" So... he should be in his study then. I went back upstairs and knocked on the door to his study lightly. I heard a muffled call from him telling me to enter and pushed his door open.
He was seated at his desk typing away on his laptop. He looked up and gave me a smile.
"Morning, Love." He called.
"Good morning..." I said slowly. He stopped typing and looked at me before he gave a guilty frown.
"Oh. About the mac n cheese. Lunch just turned into a golf game and then we had dinner and drinks and I just ended up staying much longer than I thought I would." He said.
"It's okay, we can have lunch today." I said smiling.
"Of course. I just have some emails to send, but it will not take long and we can have someone get some food from this new place I heard about last night." He said. I frowned. He seemed like he had quite a bit to do.
