Oh my muffins. It's been a terrible two weeks. I give you permission the strangle me with an octopuss(yes I really did just say that). I'm really bad at this whole uploading often thing. And my chapters aren't even that long. I do have a million excuses, but I'm not going to bother you with them. All you need to know is that now it's up!
But you guy's don't hassle me enough to write more often! Seriously- votes + comments= motivation for me to write alot. Now I've gotten a few new fans, so I'd like to take the time to say a major thankyou :)
Anyways, I have a feeling if my mom catches me still up right now (it's late where i live) it won't be good.
P.S. Sorry it's short and hope you enjoy :)

I sat there shell shocked. What was that supposed to mean? I glanced over to see Talon staring emotionlessly out onto the barren road ahead, and checked behind my shoulder to see Belle and Sam still asleep.
"Talon?" I asked slightly fearfully. God only knows what I could find out, if anything.
"Is it weird that I'm getting sick of hearing my own name?" he joked, but all traces of humour quickly left his face when he caught sight of my weary expression. "What is it?"
"How does Dan know so much and why isn't he human? Is he like us?" I questioned, wincing a little at how accusing I sounded. He tightened his grip on the steering wheel.
"Yes." he simply answered. His voice sounded strained.
"Why didn't you tell me!" I yelled, although I wasn't really that angry, mainly hurt. This was important information, and kept it from me for unknown reasons.
"Because. I don't know. It wasn't important at the time." he spat out, fumbling over his words.
"Wasn't important?" I asked incredulously. "Talon, how could that not be important? He's like me, like us. Don't you think it would have been nice to let me know that there are more than just the five of us! The others, are they like us too?" I was surprised at how much venom I put into those words, yet proud at the same time. If there was one thing I didn't like, it was being kept in the dark. I was kept in the dark throughout my sisters illness.
"Yes." Yes? Was that all he had to say? I had no time for his foolishness, so I pressed on.
"And what now. Am I supposed to be their 'leader' too?" This complicated everything so much more. I sure as hell didn't want to be leading eight of them, but I also didn't think I could compete with another leader.
"Yes." he sighed exasperated. He was seriously pushing my buttons now. I was fed up with the one word answers. He was going to elaborate, whether he liked it or not. There was no getting out of this, especially since we were currently in a car travelling 120 km/h.
"Care to explain, hm, I don't know, everything?" I snapped sarcastically. Wow, I was being a b!tch. Oh well. "Oh and don't worry, I still have all of the rest of this car ride, and the next plane ride, oh and also the drive after that."
"Phoenix, I didn't tell right away because firstly we have enough to worry about getting Summer back. And you still haven't even changed yet." he said desperately. That was believable, yes, but it felt like there was still something off. I didn't press it, because I probably wouldn't get any answers at all.
"True enough, but you can still tell me now. And I don't see what that would have to do with anything in the first place." I pushed. He ignored the last bit I said, but thankfully decided to explain some to me.
"There are nine of us. Out of nine mythological birds, it makes sense that there is one that is more powerful than the rest. And to give control to the most powerful is only logical. And that would be you."
