Hey bys! Sorry I haven't updated in a coon's age! (what is that anyways? Is that even a saying, or am I just losing it...? haha) So things have been pretty hectic, well for me anyways. What with the hustle and bustle of christmas and what not.

Not gonna lie, it was pretty painful for me to write this, and I struggled to get it out of me haha, so sorry if it's no good! I thank you all for sticking with me, as you wait fore me, ever so patiently....

Sorry, had to do it hahaha...

I hope you all had a good holiday! And Happy New Year too! Let's hope this is a good year! I know it was pretty terrible for me and many I know, but let's not get into that..

One last thing, I'm starting another story, I had another idea I just had to get out haha. I may or may not post it, it depends.

Oh wait, one other thing...... vote and comment?? (:

I didn't think the disaster we had escaped would ever fade into the distance, that's how big the cloud of smoke was. I couldn't seem to peel my eyes away from the horrendous sight I was seeing, the people whose lives were ultimately ruined. I waited until Talon had put a good distance between us and the smoldering wreckage to inquire about the phone call he received.

"Who called you to let us know we had to get out of that hotel? What do they know?" I asked in a calm manner, narrowing my eyes at him. Though in reality, on the inside I was still a panicky mess.

"It was our creators." He replied, rubbing the back of his neck. "The ones who bombed the hotel are power hungry savages, the ones our creators are trying to save the world from, by employing us. That was an extremely close call; they're getting smarter. I was told we need to get to the airport as quick as possible and from there we're to take a privet jet."

Why we couldn't take a privet jet in the first place, I had no idea. I supposed they had their ulterior motives. Luckily for us though, the airport was very near. We were ushered through security very quickly, and the plane took off almost immediately once we were on it. I felt as though I'd be too jittery to fall asleep, but before I knew it I'd drifted off into unconsciousness.

I awoke sometime later to the feeling of a hand pressed against my forehead. Groaning, I sat up and look around the find the owner of that hand. As I blinked my eyes, the face of Dan came into focus. I stared at him, startled and confused.

"Are you feeling okay?" he asked, his face lined with worry. "You look really pale and are burning up."

"Oh that's normal." I reassured him, my voice still thick with sleep. I cleared my throat.

"Right, Phoenix. Gotcha."

Neither of us said anything, and we simply stared back at one another, until I realized that must seem really weird. And so, I blurted out the first thing that came to mind.

"You have really pretty eyes." I blushed upon realization of what I had said.

"I could say the same to you." He said, smiling genuinely. I blushed even more, but then took into consideration that this guy was also believed to be a womanizer, and could very well just be saying that.

"What do your wings look like?" I said to change the topic.

He seemed to ponder this for a minute. "Well, they're all different colours really. You'll just have to see for yourself."

"I wish I had my wings." I said wistfully.

"They'll hurt at first," He warned me, "but it will definitely be worth it in the end."
