Chapter 6: Mom!

I've been within my exams and I still wouldn't stop thinking about Alvin. This grew worse the moments I could view the notifications on my phone and get his missed calls and messages. I wonder why he can't read between the lines and know I'm not interested at all. Well maybe he noticed he was my weakness and this would drag me into him...I'm sorry to myself though.

This was my last day for exams and I would park my bags cause I don't think I'd manage any more days in this place. I rushed from my paper room and ran to my crib to communicate home that I was just some minutes away from home and I would really love to be welcomed with the homemade pizza with chicken soup that momma would cook it best just for her lovely family. I really craved for that and I couldn't keep calm.

I was chilled at the couch dialling up mommy's contact to tell her about my journey when Alvin called. Really now! What's up with this dude.l mean I need to focus on my family now can he just give me time.

"Boy! Would you stop calling me and get a life!"

I screamed this out over the phone after pressing on the receive button...he can't just be away for over a year and come back to my life asif nothing had happened before and assume that we good! I mean who does that...we all deserve space when we demand for it.

"Hhheeyyy girl what's up?!"
A familiar voice said this up with chuckles within. It was a lady I could tell and she seems to know exactly who she's talking to...thou who could be having Alvin's phone right now...I hadn't saved that number but believe me I couldn't confuse it with any other's. It was his and this was a lady talking on the phone with me...it can't be a soar throat.. Alvin's effect of such results to a very poor old voice you can't confuse with a woman's,no hard feelings thou.

Goddamnit she sounds like my mom! But this can't be possible! How can she be having Alvin's phone??

"Mom? Is that you?"
"Huh! Yeeaa baby how's school I miss you so much!"

It's her! It's my mom talking on Alvin's phone...what's happening...why does everything sound so odd lately!

"Mom! Is everything okay?! Why you not using your phone...this is a new number..have you just changed your number mom?" I decided to play along. She can't be having Alvin...seems I'm the one who just forgot Alvin's phone number and thinking all the new numbers are his.

"No kid....guess who came over to our house today!"
"Who!". Oh my God am I asking this ... despite the fact that I'm asking her who came to the house...I started being sure that that was Alvin's phone but I'm not positive that I would want mom to say it out. Alvin has been a total mess ever since I knew him when we were kids till highschool when I decided to quit our memories and time thoughts of how we'd spent out childhood and almost all our lifes together...he was a pain in the ass and I can't wish to take him back into my life... Alvin is such a coward and an idiot and I don't really want to think about him....

"Hey Amanda! Did you hear me?"

Honestly I didn't..I'm lost in my thoughts immediately I just asked about who came to the house...I'm finding it hard to believe that Alvin can even think of doing that...

"Amanda...seems you not even on the call...but I just said...Alvin Darryl is home and he came over with a whole box of chains and jeweleries just for you! I know you like jewels and I wonder how he came to know your taste...they all look good and I wish they could all be mine.! Hey honey please tell me when are you coming home because Alvin is staying over for a month since he's on holiday...I'm the one who just proposed that and I considered it because I knew you'd be happy having him around.! we're really looking forward to seeing you soon I believe you should be done with your papers now! Bye love you!we were just having some fun cooking egg curry with plain rice.ttyl!"
