"Believe you can do it and you're halfway there"- Theodore Roosevelt.
Dad called me to his room immediately we were done with breakfast to help him park the little he would need before purchasing others major needs in England.
I wouldn't waste any more seconds sitting that close to my ex...
A name I never wished to call him thou
....and having that awkward feeling I've heard all through the meal. Infact I didn't feel any of it my stomach and I'm much sure in no less time my belly would start growling and craving for more food.
"I hope you not up to carrying everything..you know that would really feel like you won't be coming back."
"Huh of course not girl. I may only need my towel that my mom had given me as my last birthday gift before she had that stupid lung cancer that led her to her grave and maybe some one two things .. I only mentioned the towel as a heads up in case you would forget that."He said that with a light smirk on his lips I'm sure it was fake and was trying to hide the pain and sorrows that accompanied those memories. The thought of her mom dying two years ago really made him lose his happiness and had before promised that he wouldn't live long, instead he should be following Grandma to the grave. His dad had abandoned them when he was still young and grandma meant a whole lot to him that you wouldn't compare to anything...his loss disgusted him to a point that we got him admitted for three months after having a comma when she died.
"Of course." I said this trying to avoid the unwieldiness between us which I knew he could start sobbing out loud like a little baby asif granny just left yesterday.
"So...what will you be doing in the company anyway? What contract is it about?"
"You wouldn't wish to know honey...infact you wouldn't understand..just know it's a little bit complicated and one day you'll come to know all this okay?"
"Wow okay."That's odd....I'm not that young to know what a contract can be about. I remember when I was fourteen there's this show I used to follow up and the starring had signed a contract with an old man to get married for ten years as the man serves her family and provide all her needs...what am I even talking about... Mom just told me it's a company contract....well I admit I'm too young to understand this...pass!
Donny bumped into the room with a small enclosed box which he gave to dad. Daddy gave him a curious look as he unsealed the box eagerly waiting to know what was inside. Donny looked at him with a ' go on ' look you would say he also was eager to know how dad would react after seeing it.
I gave them a side look trying to look so much busy on the wardrobe availing the blue two-piece suit that was his favourite and tucking it in the briefcase...each minute I wouldn't keep calm but look over from the sides of my right arm to see what Donny really has for dad.
"Oh kid! I love you so much...I promise to keep this till I come back . you're so great!"
Donny kept smiling and playing with his little fingers. His shoulders kept on moving back and fourth and he had nothing to say instead he only removed sounds no one could fix to an actual word.I pressed my eyes to overlook what was in the box since Dad hadn't lifted it high enough for me to see it. I was clinging to be tall enough to see it and unfortunately I missed my balanced and flew to the floor. To make it look like I had not fallen I started pretending to be looking for something under the bed.
"Uuhm dad I can't see your black leather shoes you wore yesterday...I know you wouldn't wish to leave them behind yeah?" Although I was in much pain and my back was aching so bad...I just don't want to be laughed on and I better hide that. Dad looked at me with suspicious eyes and I guess he would never fall for my trick.
I stood on my feet and gave him a blank stare to make him believe I was really looking for the shoes.
"Right beside you." He said pointing beside me when I peeped an eye and saw the shoes. Infact I was the one who had just placed them there a while ago. Oops my bad...lies and tricks never work my way.... I'm so dumb to even forget the last time I created a lie over Alicia and Chris never worked and that could basically be a sign that I would never be so good at that.
Donny couldn't hide the chuckles and I gave him a piercing look as if that would make him stop. He was somehow a pain in the ass at times and you wouldn't believe that a day before he'd confessed on how much he had missed me. He left the room so happy and maybe I could tell Dad to now tell me what was in that box instead of trying more harder.
"Come on Dad...you know what I want already.." I said this with a convincing voice trying to get into dad's favour.
Later he showed me and it wasn't something more important thou... It was a blue pen rapped so we'll you'd think it's kind of a gold chain or something even more better than that and having all the pain in my body after a bump on the floor just to see that was a real bummer.
We were done and now I wouldn't wait to take Dad to his car for him to drive to the airport for the flight.
Alvin was chilled on the couch when we made our way out and he still didn't bother looking at me. I tried talking on a loud voice maybe to get that little attention but it was never going to work. He looked so focused on the show that was going on the TV not to notice my presence or anyone's.
I only reached the door and left mom to walk out while they tell each other their last words on how they'll miss each other and staff.
On my way back I dropped a pin I had within my fingers to get some attention but Al won't look at me still ... wasn't that destructive enough!? I mumbled a curse while making my way to my room.
I called Juliet to maybe at least get someone to talk to..
"Juliet...how's you?"
"Heyyy girl I'm cool and you? How's your holiday?"
"Don't remind me ..it's crazy!"
"Why thou"
"Dude I'm having my ex in the same roof you can't imagine that!"
"Eeww I feel you...you guys must be creating a lot of drama there."Hhhh I wish she knew.
"Later...bye"
It was worth stopping the talk...after all Juliet didn't know anything about any of my staffs. Why did I even think talking to him would help.... tragic.
I knew dad would have a great journey there but as well I knew my dumbass would have a whole troubled holiday which would be the longest and the hardest too.
