Chapter 18: "us."

Sometimes we're tested not to show our weaknesses but to discover our strengths

"What did you tell Juliet?"

"What?"

"About...us??" He threw his fingers in the air dramatically trying to make me understand. I bet it also sounded so odd in his own tongue when he said 'us'.

We ended up in this convo when Juliet was bored and decided to go take a nap. I was chilling outside beside the pool sipping on some champagne enjoying the little breeze and the faint sunlight that was embracing my smooth skin. I hadn't changed from the short instead I'd switched from the t-shirt I had before to a sleeveless white crop top.

I was enjoying my own company when I saw him approaching pulling a seat on the ground lazily. I ignored as if I hadn't seen him in the first place until he surprised me with that topic.

"Nothing...she just has her own thoughts that we're dating. I don't think I have time to explain some staffs."

I continued glazing at the pool admiring how the water hugged it's own waves calmly. It was so sad to accept the fact that despite having a pool in the compound,I couldn't swim yet. All I did in all these years was chill by the sides and watch the blue waters all day and get back to the house. Even Donny was more perfect in swimming than I was....what a shame.

"Oh really." Alvin smiled and glanced at my busy face. I avoided eye contact.

"And what do you think?" He kept looking at me.

"Huh?" I turned to look at him and I was so surprised to find him bending with his arms on his knees typically looking at me. Jeez boy.

"What do you think? I mean...should we start 'dating'...I mean only in her presence I promise." He snorted sarcastically.

That's a good idea thou...I thought to myself.

"It's okay when you don't want...I understand that you...."

"No it's okay." I said with a firm look. This would be so much fun. He looked at me not believing what I just said. I know he gave that suggestion sure enough that I wouldn't accept.

"Yeaa....I'm so okay with that. So what will we be doing."

He was still confused if really it was me speaking. I don't blame him. After all we haven't been in good terms lately and this will surely be difficult.

"Uhm yea....yea...are you sure about this?" A smile formed in a lips as he breathed deeply and I concluded that he probably found this to be so much fun. I don't know if he still had feelings for me though.

"Just an act you said?" I couldn't keep that question to myself.

"Yeah...just mutual I can swear on that."

"Okay."

I crossed my legs and got back to my drink.

"You just asked what we will be doing. I thought that would come naturally.....so I don't find it necessary to answer you."

He smiled and walked away... I shook my head finding it so unbelievable. I clicked my tongue and went on sipping on my drink.
