Back home I ran round getting ready for mine and Riley's date. Me and Riley going on a date, I still couldn't wrap my head around it.

"Look at you."

I spun round to see my mum at my door. I was wearing some skinny jeans and a green, long sleeved, tight top but was still wondering on trainers or heels.

"Do I look ok? Is it too casual? Should I put my heels on? I mean, it's suppose to be a date so something a little dressier would be better. But it's at the movies so don't want to dress up too much, you know? But I wanna make an effort, but not look like I made an effort as I don't want-"

"Woah sweetheart! Calm down" my mum laughed as she came into the room. I took in a deep breath and she took my hands as I breathed out, "Chase will love you in anything." I held my breath and looked her dead in the eyes. "It's not Chase?"

"Well, no" I mumbled before looking down and taking my hands out of hers to grab my heels, "it's Riley." I sat at my office chair and clipped up the buckles as I noticed the time.

"Riley? Wow." She poses for a moment, "what happened with Chase?"

"Nothing" I sighed, standing up and grabbing my leather jacket, "just didn't work out."

And like he knew, the doorbell rang signalling Riley was here, "I'll see you later."

I walked out my room, leaving my mum in there. She grabbed me at the top of the stairs before I put my foot down, "Riley's a nice boy, make sure you like him and you're not using him to get over Chase."

"I'm not. He is nice, and yeah I like him. But not sure how much. So this date will let me know. I'll let you know when I'm on the way home." With that, I skipped down the stairs and opened the front door. We left the house and went off to the movies.

After the movie, we found a little place to sit and have a coffee before we headed home. Sitting in the comfy chairs in the corner we talked about the movie and caught up on everything.

"So no boyfriends while away?"

"No. I was too busy with these gems to even try find anyone. I was all over the world so wasn't in one place long enough either." I took a sip of my latte before asking him a question, "no girlfriends?"

He shook his head while sipping his cappuccino, "nah. Same. Busy with the rangers and work. Don't get time to meet anyone."

We sat for a while, chatting away until we finished the coffees and he walked me home.

At my gate we stood for a few seconds in silence. "Thanks for inviting me out." I smiled.

"Thanks for saying yes." Riley smiled back and we giggled a little.

I looked him up and down; his hands in his jeans pockets, hoody slightly too big for him but looked really nice somehow, his hair fell a little over his face as he really needed a trim. He looked so handsome. Finally I went for it. The moment of truth. I stepped forward, put my hands round his neck and pulled myself closer. His hands moved from his pockets to my waist and I felt him grab and pull me closer too. I slowly closed my eyes and our lips touched. It was sweet and romantic.... but....

We pulled away from each other and looked into each others eyes, "anything?" He asked in a whispered.

"Nope." I sighed as we rested our foreheads together.

"Same." He closed his eyes but when he opened them he was looking down to the ground, "least we tried. I'd have kicked myself if I never asked."

"I'm glad you did." I smiled before pulling him in for a hug. Before I let go I kissed him on the cheek. Just because. I walked into my garden and to the front door.

"By the way," Riley shouted after me. I turned to look at him, "I appreciate the top." He smirked as I looked down at my green top.

"Just for you, Green Ranger. Good night." I smiled and walked in.
