In the morning I left before anyone else woke. It was just too awkward being there. I thought it might have been better after a few hours; wrong. After the night; nope. It all just made me feel worse. Especially after that story, I felt so sorry for Scarlet for being picked on for doing nothing. Which in turn made me feel bad for what happened with Chase; how could we do that!? She seems so nice and we hurt her. Worse than that friend did. OMG. She thinks of me as a friend. I'm THAT friend.

I crept home and slinked upstairs to my room where I fell face first onto my bed. I screamed into the mattress to let out everything that I had been keeping bottled up. A bolt of heat stabbed my thigh and I jumped up, grabbing my leg right in the place of the Fire Sphere.

I took it out my pocket - along with Rose and Water - and placed them on my desk to have a closer look. I sat in the desk chair but put it as far away as possible while still leaning in the desk, eye level with the Spheres.

"So, I'm guessing you" I picked up the Fire Sphere, "react to my anger." A tiny bolt of red shot up in the air and made a little curl before dissolving. I placed it back on the desk and picked up Rose, "you seem to calm me down. But you're Earth Sphere really. Surely the Air should bring an 'air of calm' to me?" I studied the Sphere but nothing happened. Turning it over and over I sighed, "maybe to bring me back to Earth." I muttered. But as I was about to place it back on the desk, it did the same thing as the Fire Sphere only this time with a Pearly pink bolt. "And finally you Water." I clicked my tongue on the roof of my mouth, "water. Water. Water?" I kept repeating, trying to find a connection somehow, "emotions with water....crying? Sadness?" This one dropped a tear shaped blue droplet from it. "So. What is Air?"

I continued to play with the Spheres for a while, lost in my thoughts. I hadn't even realised my mum come in and tell me I had a visitor, or that the visitor come in.

"Hey."

I whipped my head round to see Chase sat on my bed. "How long have you been here?"

"About five minutes, give or take."

I sighed, grabbed my Spheres and got off my chair, "thought you'd be with Scarlet." As I looked over to him I felt a damp patch in my hand. And Water has woken up. That's a great gift; make everything wet. Wait....sad? I'm sad?

"We're not attached to the hip" he laughed as I stood in front of him.

"Could've fooled me." I muttered but he heard. He sighed before standing up and looking into my eyes.

"I'm sorry about how the other day went. We shouldn't have....I shouldn't have said..."

"No you shouldn't have." I whispered. Chases hands took my waist as he brought himself closer. "What are you doing?"

"Apologising."

"No, why are you so close?"

"Because I need to be. I can't stay away."

He leaned in and I was so close to let this kiss happen, but reality snapped on and I slapped him round the face.

"Look Chase, if you want to be with her that's fine! But don't come to me and tell me a load of lies just to keep me happy!" I wiggled free of his grip and moved round to the other side of the bed.

"I'm not telling you any lies -"

"Just stop!" I interrupted him, "You said you loved me and then went running back to her!" The Fire Sphere started burning in my hand the more I shouted, but I didn't care. I needed to shout. "That hurt me! I thought maybe, just maybe, you'd leave her. But no. I mean what were you thinking!?!"

"I wasn't." He looked like a lost little puppy with his gorgeous eyes just staring at me, a worried, sad look on his face while I spoke.

"No you weren't." I took a few deep breaths before putting the Fire Sphere back in my pocket along with Water, and now held onto just the Rose Sphere. This one calmed me down so I could think clearly, "So please, just stay away from me."

I picked up my bag from the desk, brushed passed Chase and walked out the door. Walked out of my own room. My own home. That's how much I couldn't be near him right then. I couldn't.

I wondered out into the fresh air and carried on until I found a wood to wonder into, to get away. As I walked, I didn't turn round to see if he was following me. Or worse, not following me.
