❛You know, Miss Lupin, you're much different than your brother.❜

As Hope Lupin-Black walked into Transfiguration on the second day of class, she hoped it would be something she could enjoy. So far, Charms had been the only class that she liked. Snape despised her in Potions, and Quirrell was a bore.

When she walked into class, she saw a tabby cat sitting on Professor McGonagall's desk. Hope eyed the cat carefully before she noticed its blue eyes and remembered the old books Sirius had on Animagi.

"Professor," she whispered, making the cat look at her. "I just wanted to let you know, I think this is completely awesome."

Hermione Granger walked into class with a prideful look on her face, until she realized one of the only empty seats in the front was next to Hope. As she sat down, the Lupin-Black girl rolled her eyes. "I didn't choose to sit next to you, I just have to sit in the front--"

"No need to explain yourself," Hope interrupted, stopping Hermione from rambling on. "I get it, it's just a seat."

Minutes had passed, and the bell rang signaling that class was starting. Moments after, Ron Weasley and Harry Potter came sprinting into the classroom. The sight made Hope start laughing and Hermione rolled her eyes.

"Whew, we made it," Ron spoke up, practically jinxing himself as he spoke. "Can you imagine the look on McGonagall's face if she saw we were late?"

Once the words left the Weasley boy's mouth, the tabby cat sitting on the desk transformed into Professor McGonagall. Hope clapped loudly, whispering to Hermione. "Wasn't that bloody brilliant?"

The Transfiguration professor stared at the two boys, before looking at her watch. "Thank you for that assessment, Miss Lupin. Perhaps if I were to transfigure Mister Potter and Mister Weasley into pocket watches, maybe one of you might be on time?"

"We got lost, Professor--" Harry went to say, but McGonagall held up her hand.

"Then perhaps a map?" she asked, gesturing to the class. "I trust you don't need one to find your seats."
