Hope Lupin-Black and Harry Potter both found themselves stuck in detention with Gilderoy Lockhart. The idea of detention in the professor's mind was for the two of them to answer his fan mail. Hope couldn't help but be bored, thinking of a hundred better ways to spend her evening.

"Harry, Hope, could you possibly think of a better way to serve a detention?" the professor asked with a wide smile. "You get the pleasure of helping me answer my fan mail."

Harry forced a smile as he nodded along. "Definitely not."

"Liar," Hope muttered under her breath. "I could think of many different ways, all of them better than this."

"Fame is a fickle friend," Lockhart told the two students with caution, eyeing himself in a mirror. "Celebrity is as celebrity does. Remember that."

While the Lupin-Black girl rolled her eyes, Harry began to glance around the room. Almost as if he was hearing something. But, after a few seconds, he blinked his eyes strangely as if whatever he was thinking went away.

She leaned into her friend as she asked. "You okay, Harry?"

"Fine, fine," he quickly replied, narrowing his eyes at her. "Are you okay, Hope?"

"Me? I'm fine—"

He paused once again, his eyes darting around to the different corners of the classroom. Before Hope could even ask what was wrong, Harry, unexpectedly, jumped up out of his chair. Looking more paranoid than ever.

"What?" questioned Harry, as if he were talking to the air around him. "Huh?"

Hope tried to place a hand on his shoulder. "Who are you talking to?"

"I know!" Lockhart exclaimed, grabbing one of his books from beside him. "Six solid months at the top of the Best-Seller list! Broke all of the records."

The Potter boy furrowed his eyes in confusion, shaking his head intently as he tried to listen for it another time. "No, not that. The voice."

"Voice?"
