❛I'm so proud of you.❜

Hope Lupin-Black sat at the top of the Astronomy Tower the day before the Second Task, simply enjoying the view of the morning clouds instead of the stars. And waiting for her best friend to finish breakfast, as she decided not to bug her Gryffindor friends.

"I figured it out! I figured it out!" exclaimed Cedric, barging through the door. "You will not believe this, J."

"The egg?"

Cedric only nodded, taking a seat next to her. "Yes. I've known about what it kind of means for a short amount of time, just not exactly what it means. Until now."

Hope's grey eyes narrowed as he went quiet. "Are you going to tell me or--"

"Merpeople. That's the second task." he exclaimed once more, looking excited. "Two creatures so far! Amazing."

"It seems dangerous." muttered Hope, looking confused. "They're classified XXXX, students shouldn't be doing anything with them. Stupid Bagman."

The Diggory boy only rolled his blue-grey eyes playfully. "There's more. They are supposed to be taking something of ours. I'm not sure what though."

"I'm confused."

"The Black Lake, we're going to have to go under and find what they took." he stated as if it were obvious. "I'm excited."

Hope shrugged her shoulders, her eyes not leaving the sky. "I suppose so."

"How are you and Weasley?" questioned Cedric, looking scared for his best friend's answer.

"Still not exactly on talking terms. He's lucky I've been able to contain myself." she spoke angrily, shaking her head. "He's an idiot, honestly."

Cedric only placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You know, we could kill him if you'd like. I'm sure Mrs. Weasley would understand."

"That won't be necessary."
