As the three Gryffindor students walked into the Forbidden Forest, which was even darker than the night they served detention, all of them had different reactions to the unknown sounds around them. Ron Weasley jumped the second he heard anything, while Harry Potter kept his wand raised, but Hope Lupin-Black just seemed to admire it all.

"There's something moving over there," Ron called out, taking a step backward and freezing in his tracks. "Something big."

Hope rolled her eyes as she retorted. "Now you're just acting scared—"

"No," Harry shook his head, stopping as well. "I hear it too."

Suddenly, a flash of light shined through the trees. It lit up their pathway, and they just seemed to realize how many trees were around them. Harry and Ron instantly went to turn around, but Hope only let out a laugh.

"Guys, it's just the car," she chuckled, the once shiny blue car was now scratched with lumps of dirt and grass sticking out of the hood. "Merlin, you really did a number on it, didn't you? Good thing it went into the Forest, otherwise Mum would've been pissed."

"We did not—"

"Maybe we did," Harry shrugged his shoulders, looking at the windows. "It really is filthy."

"That's because it's been here the entire time, look at it," Ron even seemed to find the situation funny. "The Forest must've turned it wild."

Harry glanced back at the slope that they were once following before reminding his friends. "Let's go, we don't want to lose our trail. Especially in here, at night."

"Right, right. Lead the way, Harry."

The three continued their way down the trail into a shadowed area where the trees stood so tall that you couldn't see the top. On the trees, webs were strung from one to the other, forming magnificent webbing all over. Harry kept his hands at his side while Ron looked around as if he were in his worst nightmare.
