With that, we climbed into the barge. Once we were inside, I gave the bowman a small smile. "Listen bowman, I'm so sorry for your loss."

The man returned my smile. "Thank you. My name's Bard by the way."

"I'm Malia."

As soon as we left, I couldn't help but sing a song, one that my mom use to sing to Neil and me. And before I knew it, I began to sing.

"Upon one summer's morning,
I carefully did stray.
Down by the Walls of Wapping,
Where I met a sailor gay,
Conversing with a young lass.
Who seem'd to be in pain.
Saying, William, when you go,
I fear you'll ne'er return again.

My heart is pierced by Cupid.
I disdain all glittering gold,
There is nothing can console me,
But my jolly sailor bold.

His hair it hangs in ringlets
His eyes as black as coal
My happiness attend him
Wherever he may go.

From Tower Hill to Blackwall
I'll wander, weep and moan
All for my jolly sailor
Until he sails home.

My heart is pierced by Cupid
I disdain all glittering gold
There is nothing can console me
But my jolly sailor bold.

My heart is pierced by Cupid
I disdain all glittering gold
There is nothing can console me
But my jolly sailor bold."

Once I finished the song, I glanced over at Bard, who gave me a charming smile, one that made my heart flutter. However at that moment, I felt an arm around my wrist, pulling my away. I turned to see Neil, pulling me to the other side of the barge.

"Neil, what's gotten into you?" I asked.

"I don't like the way he's looking at you." Neil commented.

I scoffed. "Are you kidding me?"

Percy then approached my side, giving Bard a suspicious look. "I have to agree with Neil on this. We just met the guy, you don't know his intentions."

I rolled my eyes. "You two are impossible."

As we continued the journey on Bard's barge, there was thick mist all around us. Without thinking twice, I lifted a hand, pushing the mist back, revealing a large stone in the water.

"Watch out!" Bofur cried out.

Without panicking, Bard went around the huge stone without much difficulty. I was rather impressed. However, others in the company, weren't so happy.

"What are you trying to do? Drown us?" Thorin asked, sounding irritated.

"I was born and bred on these waters, Master Dwarf. If I wanted to drown you, I would not do it here." Bard shot back.

"Oh, I've had enough of this lippy lake-man. I say we throw him over the side and be done with him." Dwalin grumbled.

"Oh, Bard. He's name's Bard." Bilbo mentioned.

Neil raised an eyebrow. "How do you know?"

"Uh...I asked him." Bilbo explained.

"I don't care what he calls himself, I don't like him." Dwalin blurted out.

"Oh come on, he's not that bad." I protested.

"Not that bad? Malia, he had an arrow pointed at Ori." Percy reminded me.

"We do not have to like him, we simply have to pay him." Balin informed them.

Balin was sitting down on a barrel, while he counted the coins on a small crate. He glanced around at the dwarves. "Come on, now, lads. Turn out your pockets."
