I woke up, I could sense someone right next to me. I opened my eyes expecting to see Sebastian but instead to see Ciel sitting on the edge of my bed staring at me with a faint smile. "You're awake." He spoke. I jumped out of bed, feeling great but I noticed I was in a dress and the same pair of black gloves I would usually wear. It was the same dress that Sebastian once got me awhile ago. The dress I never wore, in my favorite color. I never even tried it on. It wasn't as bad of a dress as I thought. I still preferred a suit though, or a nice tail coat. I was a bit startled though. "Why am I in a dress? Who put me in it? No, never mind. Why are you here?" I asked. He stood up and approached me, gripping my gloved hand with both his hands. I was astonished. "I want to ... thank you for saving my butler. If he were to have died, I wouldn't be able to continue my mission." He spoke. My heart started racing, not because he was holding my hand. It was because I could sense his soul, just by his touch. "I can see why Sebastian would want his soul." I thought. My eyes started to glow. Ciel had lost his somewhat faint smile and he let go of my hand. I shrugged to Ciel's reaction and gave a smile. "Whatever, it's not a big deal. Sebastian could have survived that second blow to the stomach. He would have been fine either way so there was nothing for you to worry about." I said. He straightened up his posture and spoke up. "Everyone is waiting for you down stairs. Sebastian said you would awaken by now. May I escort you?" He asked putting out his hand. I smirked. "Has he gone soft? What happened to his dull angry side. He's being passionate, and nice." I wondered. "Why show kindness to me? I'm merely a butler." I asked. He gave off a slight blush. Putting his hand down and looking off to the side loosing eye contact. "I ... let's go." He mumbled. I opened the door letting him exit first and me following him from behind.    Reaching the bottom of the steps to see several smiles. Finnie, Mey-Rin, Baldroy, and even Lizzie. Surprisingly Sebastian was nowhere to be found. They all crowded around me hugging me tight. I rolled my eyes and pushed them off me. They seemed surprised by my action. "My apologies. I'd prefer not to be touched but anyway, what's all the commotion about?" I asked giving off a dull expression. Somewhat like Ciel's. "Well we heard that you had an awful flue so we got worried. You've been asleep for a few days so we have been preparing for you to celebrate your recovery." Lizzy spoke. I smiled, acting as if I cared. In my position as a butler that was the only thing I could do. I needed to make sure to deceive them. "If I were to have them think low of me then what kind of Phantomhive butler would I be?" I gave off a huge smile. "Thank you guys. I'm fully recovered. Thank you for your concern." I bowed. "(Your Name) You look so pretty!" Lizzie said gripping onto my hands. "Hm, might as well take this opportunity to do something. Considering this is the first day on the job being new and improved." I thought. "How about a picnic out in the garden young master?" I asked moving my stare to Ciel. "Yeah can we young master? I fixed the garden all up and such for a moment like this." Finnie said all excitedly. "That's sounds like a wonderful idea!" Elizabeth squealed. Ciel seemed to lighten up a bit. "Sure, I don't care." He said with his normal dull tone. "Yay!" Elizabeth said happily. "I'll go get things prepared then, young master." I didn't know where much of the items were but I had specific feeling on different areas of the manor. I found a picnic blanket downstairs in the closet in the second hallway fifth door to my right. The room was just a regular living room, which I had noticed he had a lot of rooms in the manor just like this one spread out in different areas of the manor. In every room that was slightly similar to this one was rearranged differently and every room seemed to have a closet, with different items. I got the picnic basket and blanket. Then I went to the kitchen. I got out the recipe book that was on top of the cabinets and started looking for something sweet. I opened the book up and skimmed through it quite quickly. I stopped on page 256. The Victoria Sponge Cake had caught my eye. "Hmm, alright." I summarized the page and started to cook.    When I finished up I was bit of a mess. Not because I couldn't have avoided a mess but I wanted to be a mess. I made tea, cookies, and the Victoria Sponge Cake. "Pretty good for my first time." I mumbled. "When everyone is done eating and such, I'll go and get myself a tail coat, dress pants, maybe even a pocket watch. Definitely a bow tie." I said with a smile appearing on my face. I put all the sweets I had made in the picnic basket, and made my way outside.    Everyone was outside with smiles. Even Ciel had a small noticeable smile. It looked fake but it was still there. "You're it!" Elizabeth giggled as she patted Baldroy on the shoulder. Elizabeth, Finnie, Baldroy, and Mey-Rin were all playing tag. Ciel was sitting on the picnic blanket watching the bunch chase each other. Even Tanaka was with the bunch sitting on Finnie's shoulders. "I wonder why I haven't seen Tanaka around until now." I wondered. I approached Ciel sitting the picnic basket right next to him, taking out his tea. I gave him his tea cup and I stood back up keeping my distance from him. "You know, you can sit down here too if you'd like." He mumbled as he took a sip of his tea. I felt like that was an order so I sat down, still keeping a distance from him. "Would you care for a piece of cake my lord?" I asked taking out the cake and placing it in the middle of us. "I will momentarily. I'll wait till Elizabeth is ready to eat. She seems to be enjoying herself so I won't interrupt her." He spoke. I looked over to the bunch having a blast but I was a bit distracted by Ciel. I may have not been looking at him but I could feel his stare hitting me. I was going to ask but it wasn't my job to ask questions but I'd assume he'd eventually open up and I was right. "(Your Name), why are you distant from me?" He asked. I almost wanted to laugh because of how silly of a question that was. I still held my composer though. I looked back at him with a smirk appearing on my face. "Would you prefer me close?" I said smirking even wider. He stiffened up. "N-No, I ... that's not what I meant. It's just before you were a lot different and I just have a hard time believing that the person you once were is gone just because your soul is gone." He explained keeping his stare in the tea cup, staring at his reflection. "You know, the person I once was isn't gone. You should know that after seeing Sebastian's soft side." I teased. I went back to a normal smile. His eye widened to what I had said. I was joking but he must think I was serious. "Excuse me young master but I'm going to take a walk in the garden on the other side of the manor. That's if you don't need my assistance." He nodded and I stood up, walking over to the garden.   I took a deep breathe in, smelling the bright red roses. I just glared at them. What a perfect shade of red they were. "Things to do. Looks like I'll have a lot of free time on my hands considering I don't sleep anymore. Surprisingly I'm going to miss sleeping." I sighed, looking out into the distance. I was at peace. "I don't know why I hadn't become a demon sooner." I said closing my eyes, taking another deep breathe of the fresh air and aroma of flowers surrounding me. I was at peace until I felt someone come up behind me. I would have moved immediately but that was until I felt those hands intertwine with mine. A body of warmth pressed against the back of me. I would have moved but Sebastian wasn't a threat to me. I just rolled my eyes. "I see you have awaken. I apologize, that I had to turn you into such a thing." He said, then nipping on to the top of my ear. I sighed, pushing him off me. I gave him a dull expression. "Sebastian, I don't have time for such childish silly things. I think the same could go for you too." I looked him in the eyes and he seemed shocked by my reaction to his silly charades. I expected him to say something but it seemed that he didn't know what to say. He was astonished by my actions and responses. It was as if he expected me to act differently. "Sorry to be rude but I don't want to be part of this game you're playing with me. Now if you'll excuse me, I have things I need to do for the young master. Join me of you like. I just finished making him dinner, well, desert I guess you could say so you don't need to worry about it." I turned my back to him and I made my way back to Ciel. Feeling Sebastian's cold stare piercing me from behind.
