Chapter 14

Aqua

Time flew while I was here. Faith pointed out to me earlier today, while we watched movies, that I had been here almost a week. I sighed and rolled over in bed.

For the past five minutes I had been trying to fall asleep, but I couldn’t stop thinking about Angel and mine’s fight about him and Gabriel today. Gabriel was in his room because and I didn’t even know if Angel was back from his hunt. He didn’t come to see me. I assumed no one was outside my door.

Suddenly thunder cracked just outside my window and lightening lit up the whole room. My heart spiked. I sat up straight in bed. You have got to be kidding me! I’ll never get asleep now.

Then my balcony door opened and someone stepped through. I pulled my covers up to my neck jumping back.

Angel smirked at my heart rate, like he always did, “I love that,” His hair was wet and in a disarray dripping on his soaked shoulders. He had no shirt on and only slightly ratted flannel pajama pants.

I sighed. He was so amazingly hot . . . why the hell did he want me when he literally could have any vampire chick he wanted? And I mean seriously. He had girls coming through the mansion all the time “Looking for Angel” . . . “Where’s Angel?” . . . “Does Angel miss me?” . . . I don’t know how in hell the others stand it.

“I’m still mad,” I huffed crossing my arms.

“You were just admiring how I looked wet,” He leaned against the doorway out to the balcony.

“I was not!” I complained, “Why are you here? Why did you come in that way?”

“A little curious are we?” He crossed his arms looking devilishly sexy.

“You are in my room . . . I have all reason to be,” I glared, “Answer me.” I demanded.

“When did you become so superior in a house full of vampires?” He raised an eyebrow at me.

“I can be as bossy as I want in my room,” I snapped.

“Fine, I came this way because my father set up 24/7 security outside your door. My father hired them today, just like he promised. No one is allowed in unless you tell the guards to let them through. I knew in your stubborn state you sure as hell weren’t gonna let me in,” He sighed.

“You’re joking,” I sighed.

“You didn’t think he would go through with it? Check for yourself,” He nodded to the door.

I sighed and stood from my bed and walked over to the door. I pulled it open and then gasped when I saw the back of a huge vampire. He was a Goddamn mountain! He was at least 6 inches taller than I was and – like most of the vampires I had met – devilishly handsome. He had dark brown, short, wavy hair. He was built like a  . . . well mountain. He was completely packed with muscle. He was wearing all black . . . how incredibly cliché.

He turned around and smiled flashing two perfectly pointed canines.

“Dear God,” I gasped looking up into two perfect, round emerald green eyes.

He chuckled, “They didn’t tell me I was guarding such a pretty little thing,” He smirked.

“Well, they didn’t tell me I was getting such a . . . um . . . well, such a . . . guard,” I sighed.

He chuckled again, “Well, thank you.”

“Thank you,” I sighed and closed the door and leaned my back against it, “Are all vampires insanely hot.” I sighed.
