Chapter 22
“May I have this dance, Princess Aqua,” Derek smirked at me offering his hand.
“No,” Angel growled pulling me closer into his side.
“Let the girl speak for herself, Angel,” Derek said seriously.
“No,” I smiled up at Derek. “Thank you for asking, but no. And you can stop smirking, Angel,” I sighed without leaving Derek’s gaze.
“What?” Angel chuckled innocently.
“Maybe later tonight,” I smiled at Derek and then Angel brought me into his chest and twirled away.
“Angel, I didn’t know you were that good of a dancer,” Faith commented as we twirled past her.
I laughed and smiled up at Angel, who never looked away from me, “I did,” I replied to his sister. Angel dipped me and I laughed.
He picked me back up and the music slowed down.
We began to sway easily. I laid my head on his chest.
“Angel,” I breathed.
“Yes, Love?” He replied and then pressed his lips to the top of my head.
I turned my head and looked up at him.
“I am glad you finally gave into me,” I smiled.
He rolled his eyes, “Not like you gave me much of a choice,” He sighed.
I giggled, “I can be pretty stubborn, can’t I?”
“Understatement of the century,” He looked up over my head.
“You would know,” I laid my head on his chest.
“Are you forgetting the little fact that you are older than me? By what? Like a billion years,” He chuckled when I hit his chest.
“Angel, I am not that old,” I complained.
“I know, but it’s funny,” He smirked.
Our eyes met and I couldn’t possibly look away. The people that were staring, still in the back of my mind.
“I wish they would go away,” I breathed.
“I can make them go away,” Angel smirked.
“What do you have planned?” I eyed him suspiciously.
“Do you think they think we are together?” He asked suddenly looking up.
“I would guess . . . I mean we were announced together . . . as dates. I would guess,” I shrugged confused by his question.
“I know, but I think some of them are still a little confused,” He sighed looking around.
“Maybe . . . Angel, why does this matter?” I said confused.
“I think it would be nice of us to clear it up for them,” He smirked.
“What . . .”
But then his lips were on mine. He pulled away and smiled.
“Angel,” I breathed.
“What does it matter now?” He smirked.
“I . . .”
“I love you . . . that is all I care about.” He pressed his lips back to mine again. This time he was more passionate and held me tighter. I moved my hands to clasp them together behind his neck returning the kiss as if it was like breathing.
