Chapter 15
Aqua
I rolled over and felt something cool. Angel. But when I tried to curl up into it, it moved. I felt it and realized it was a pillow. I tried to feel for something more . . . well stone-like but soon reached the edge of my bed. I sighed and opened my eyes sleepily.
I rolled to the edge of the bed as I saw the sunlight streaming in. I decided I better get to Faith’s room and get ready. I slid out of bed walked to my door opened it and screamed, jumping back against the doorframe.
Erick was standing right there with his back to me. He turned around quickly concerned.
I totally forgot about the damn guard that was set up outside my room.
I put a hand to my throat, “Oh God,” I gasped, “You scared me!”
“Sorry, I thought you remembered . . .”
“Obviously, not,” I sighed standing up straight.
I began walking down the hallway. I knew my way around now so I didn’t always have to have someone at my side.
Then I noticed Erick . . . still at my side.
“What are you doing?” I looked up at him. Then what Angel said last night hit me 24/7 security. Ha!
“My job,” He smirked at me.
I hated being a job! “So you have to follow me around all day?”
“Yes,” He replied.
“You know, my day is very boring. I just hang out with Faith . . . get annoyed by Angel . . .”
“Well, you won’t have to deal with Angel anymore because he won’t be watching over you anymore,” Erick smiled.
“Oh, yeah,” I mumbled. Angel won’t have an excuse to be around me all day. And I would be watched at night . . . it was suddenly getting impossible for me and Angel to sneak around.
“So where are we going?” He asked.
“To Faith’s room for clothes,” I said as if it was obvious.
When I reached Faith’s room, I walked right in. She was already dressed in a long, light pink sundress.
“Hey, Aqua,” Faith looked up at me from her book, “Oh, hello.” Her eyes caught Erick, “Who is he?” She looked back to me.
I looked back at Erick and he was smirking proudly, “Perks of having 24 hour security.” I replied walking into Faith’s closet. I stopped and turned to Erick, “I am sure nothing is going to happen to me . . . in this closet . . . all alone. You can stay out here with Faith,” I pointed to the couch.
“Okay,” He sighed, stepping back.
I turned and walked into the closet. I got into a white, halter-top sundress that ended just above my knees. It had a light blue ribbon wrapped around and tied in the back. I found blue sandals that matched and walked out.
“Ready for breakfast, Faith?” I asked.
“Yep,” She set her book down and stood up.
“Come on, Erick,” We walked down the hallway with Erick close on our tails.
“Well, now that you got this hunky guard of yours, Angel won’t have an excuse to follow you around and bug you,” Faith smiled brightly.
“Who says I need an excuse.”
