sometimes you can scare yourself by change,
the change may be good or bad.
brandon scared himself with his change, he found more interest in jade than his wife.
it seems as if his daughter had began to feel the same way.

jade was at the grocery store with emma to stock up at the arreaga house.
"can i call you mommy?" emma murmured out of the blue.
"em, you have one already." she said grabbing almond milk.
"the more the merrier." she cheered.

"how do you think your mommy would feel?"
jade tried to make emma think.
emma murmured something, but jade wasn't paying attention.
she was looking at a woman who had looked like the pictures she had saw at brandon's.
the woman looked over at emma and back at jade, scoffing.

"so you're the woman who's been sleeping with my husband." lynn spat, grabbing something off the shelves.
"you assume so quickly, i didn't sleep with him. we haven't even done anything."

"you've done something enough to make him not love me." she scoffed once again.
"you've done worse." jade barked back.
"mommy stop you're scaring me." emma grabbed jade's hand.

lynn was astonished, her eyes widened,
"now my daughter is calling you mommy?"
"i talked to her about this, lynn."

in her hand whatever she grabbed from the shelf was thrown back into the shelf.
"stop talking to me, you're fired."
"well, brandon hired me and i'll go when he says i go." jade crossed her arms.

"emma is my daughter so you're fired."
"you're not the one paying me lynn."
jade said in a sing song as she strolled away with her cart.
emma smiled at jade and her eyebrows furrowed.

"i like you better." emma hugged jade's leg.
"it's not good to choose between people." she reminded emma.

with a bag of groceries in one hand and emma trailing behind, jade arrived once again at the arreaga house.
"b, we're here." jade said, walking inside.
she heard voices and it got tense very quickly, guessing it was lynn and brandon.

"oh great she's in my house now yipee woohoo save the fucking day." lynn burst.
"she's scaring me." emma cried.
jade put down her bags and carried emma in her arms.

"it's okay em, she's not going to hurt you."
jade whispered, taking her upstairs.
putting her in her room then going back downstairs to brandon.
"i've never ever done anything to you lynn, you've cheated on me so many times yet the one time i'm with a girl you get jealous and call me your husband all over again?" he barked.

"that girl isn't me brandon, you fell in love with me." lynn grabbed his hand and smiled.
"who said i loved you anymore?" he spat.
"w-what now? you don't love me because of her?"

brandon pulled the ends of his hair and groaned, "get out! i want a divorce!"
"if that's what you want."
jade walked over to brandon slowly and wrapped her arms around him, as he felt her touch, brandon began to cry.
they sat there, not caring if lynn left or not.

being in each other's embrace was calming.
they didn't have to say a word, already knowing what they'd say to each other without even saying a single sentence.
