"hola princesa." edwin greeted jade as she walked into the building.
she scoffed, "edwin stop."
"i'm not doing anything, i'm just saying hi."
he walked next to jade as she was going to a shoot.
"please edwin leave me alone, i have-"
"a what? he probably hasn't asked you out yet, are you guys just buddies?"

jade rolled her eyes and got ready for her shoot, getting changed into a sleek outfit.
grabbing her phone, jade called nick because he wanted updates just to make sure she was okay.

it rang once, "hey baby."
jade blushed at the pet name, smiling to herself.
"hi, i just got done getting ready and it looks a bit professional though."
"did our pictures ever get published or anything by chance?" he asked.

"mario showed me a few but you look really good."
"mhm, how are you ma?" she could just die at the pet names, jade loved it.
"i'm okay, edwin just greeted me and wouldn't leave me alone."
"a-are you okay? do i need to come over there?"
she laughed at his sudden panic, telling him to calm down.

"mommy?" she heard a little voice call out an when she heard that familiar voice, she felt her heart break in two.
"nick, i-i'll call you back." she hung up turning to the voice calling out to her.
emma had tears in her eyes and jade was on the verge of crying, emma shook her head.

"h-how come you don't see me anymore." the little girl's voice cracked.
"i don't know if your daddy told you this but we broke up so we are no longer together anymore." jade crouched down.
"no, you guys were supposed to be together forever and ever." emma cried into jade's arms, it left a hole in her heart to see her like this.

jade knew there wasn't a way to fix this, she didn't know how to fix it.
"em, i'm so sorry. i will always love you, you know that right?"
emma nodded with her bottom lip stick out,
"i pinky promise you that i'll figure out a way for us to see each other alright?"

jade stuck out her pinky and she grabbed it with her pinky, putting a kiss on their interlocked pinkies.
"you promise?" emma looked up at her.
"i promise you, on everything em."
it was bad for jade to be this attached to emma, it wasn't healthy. she'd still have that connection to brandon and lynn but she was almost sure that nick was the one.

speaking of lynn, she called out for her daughter leaving jade crouched down in tears by herself.
"shit." she said to herself.
jade got up and wiped her tears, making sure she didn't ruin her makeup. it had completely crossed her mind that she had a shoot, walking to the room where a furious mario was waiting.

"i-i'm sorry i had a situation regarding fami-"
"no excuses, just go and we'll be done here."
mario was clearly furious but guided her through her poses and what he wanted to see for this particular photography session.

after she had finished, she had drove straight to nick's house. walking into the house, jade set her bags down and sat on the couch.
her mind was everywhere and she, herself, was a mess. jade couldn't stop thinking about emma and the promise she made her, how was she going to see her without brandon or lynn being a problem?

"hey beautiful." nick sat down next to her, scaring her a little bit.
"hi." she smiled, happy to finally see him after a hectic day.
he wrapped his arms around her and she relaxed, resting her head on his chest.
"something's wrong, are you okay?"

"i saw emma." she said as nick cupped her cheeks, the look on jade's face made him pout.
"i'm sorry, i know how hard it is for you baby."
nick cooed, watching as her eyes glossed up and a tear fell down her cheek.
he was quick to wipe it away, then pulling her into a hug. she continued to cry, it hurt nick listening to her cries since he knew how jade's relationship with emma was.

he massages the back of her head as she cried into the crook of his neck, it was important to him that she was taken care of.
they had stayed like that until jade had fallen asleep from crying so much.
