Chapter 2: The Figure

Rey's POV

I keep running across the forest attempting to get as far as I can from that lightsaber. All the things I saw when I touched it just terrified me. How could this happen? I never knew I had the force in me. All these revelations are happening way to fast and my brain just doesn't know how to acknowledge it.

Suddenly I hear a droid start beeping behind me and I turn around quickly agitated from all the running. To my surprise it was BB-8 it followed me all the way here.

"What are you doing?" I say to the droid completely hopeless. What did I get myself into?

"You promised to help BB-8." It responds to me beeping and I sigh.

"You have to go back..." I say walking towards the small droid.

"Where are you going?" BB-8 asks.

"I am leaving." I reply quickly very determined on going back to Jakku.

"Can I go with you?" BB-8 asks, but the truth is I can't help BB-8 on my own. When I was with Finn I accepted to helping BB-8 since I thought Finn would make the job easier since he made me believe he was from the resistance. But the reality now is that I'm useless I can't help the poor droid on my own.

"No, you can't. You have to go back you are too important. They'll help you." I respond trying to stay a bit hopeful. Truth is BB-8 is in better hands with Han and Chewie. They were part of the rebellion so they must have connections inside the resistance that can help BB-8.

Suddenly I hear some ships getting inside the atmosphere. I look up and see some Tie Fighters, the same ships that were following us when we were trying to get out of Jakku. This can't be any good this indicates that the First Order knows BB-8 is here, and they are going to do everything in their power to get the droid.

I stare back at BB-8 in fear and begin running towards a small hill. When I reach the top I look around hearing a loud explosion that made me jump. I notice the Tie Fighters firing their weapons towards the structure I was just in a few minutes ago. The structure starts crumbling down by all the blasts and explosions and all I can think of is how helpless I am at this very moment.

There is no way this is all real, this must be some crazy nightmare I'm in, and all I want is to get out of it. I look at the events happening in front of me in complete shock just staring at Maz's castle get demolished by the second. Everything is taking place so fast and suddenly my mind goes to Finn, Han, and Chewie. They are back in there and all I can hope of is for them to be ok.

I know I've known them for such a small amount of time but I've grown quite attached to them. They gave me that feeling of acceptance that I've been looking for for so long. Han even offered me a job with him and Chewie at the Millennium Falcon, and I couldn't be more grateful for it, but I still felt the need to get back to Jakku.

All of a sudden I see an Upsilon Shuttle start descending in the midst of all the chaos and I don't know why I start getting a bad feeling about it.

"FN-147, hold position." I hear someone say around 50 feet away from me and I recognize the voice instantly. It's a stormtrooper.

I quickly take the blaster Han gave me out and point it to the stormtrooper trying to pull the trigger, but nothing happens. Damn it! I forgot the safety. I mentally slap myself getting anxious, this mistake could cost me my life. I try removing it as fast as I can when suddenly I hear a blaster go off almost hitting me. I look back to the stormtrooper who is trying to fire his weapon at me and quickly aim to him and start shooting at him. The first shot completely missed him, but the second one hit him right in the chest.
