Chapter 9: The Breakout

AN: Hi everyone. This chapter since it is Rey's POV its going takes place directly after Chapter 4, which is The Interrogation. But don't worry it's going to end up connecting with the last chapter and keep the story moving forward. That being said enjoy the chapter.

Rey's POV:

I stay inside the interrogation cell not being able to run away since I'm still tied to the chair. I don't know what took over me and how I was able to get into that man's head. All I know is that I managed to piss him off enough for him to leave me alone. All of this is new to me I always felt like I was different from everyone else but never in a million years I would have guessed it was because I had the force inside me. In fact, I would have probably lived my whole life without knowing if it wasn't because of that lightsaber. Why was it calling to me? It must mean something.

I look down at the restraints and try to squeeze out of them but it is useless, they are too tight around me. I keep moving not wanting to give up but all I'm doing is hurting myself. I just wish I could just open them up, but no matter how much I try to concentrate on the restraints and try to use the force to open them nothing end up happening.

I wonder of what other things I might be capable of doing. Maybe everything is possible I just have to figure it out, maybe search for another way around it. For the first time ever I'm able to feel the force, so I might as well use it to my advantage.

I suddenly realized there is someone in the room with me, a stormtrooper perhaps. I stop moving and stay still trying to focus on the guard who is standing by the door behind me.

"You will remove these restraints. And leave this cell, with the door open." I say determinedly but also bit agitated from trying to free myself from the restraints. I just hope this works.

"What did you say?" The guard asks.

"You will remove these restraints. And leave this cell, with the door open." I repeat with authority but on the inside, my confidence is wavering.

I hear footsteps and turn my head noticing the guard standing beside me holding his rifle. I can feel my heart beating rapidly not knowing what is about to happen. Is he going to kill me? Maybe Free me? Or he might just laugh at me.

"I'll tighten those restraints, scavenger scum!" He says harshly and I stare back at him intensively.

I try to calm myself and concentrate. This needs to work I need to get out of here. I keep looking at the stormtrooper trying to hide any emotion I'm feeling right now and repeat myself one last time. "You will remove these restraints. And leave this cell, with the door open."

Suddenly the stormtrooper harshness fades away as if he got possessed by something. He puts his rifle down and looks back at me. "I will remove these restraints. And leave this cell, with the door open." He repeats what I just said and unlatches the restraints.

I look at him in a complete state of shock as he starts heading out when suddenly I realized I need a weapon. "And you will drop your weapon." I say quickly hoping this might work too instead of taking him out of the trance he is in.

"And I'll drop my weapon." He says coldly dropping his weapon without turning back.

I can't believe it. It actually worked! I leave the chair and rush to the door picking up the rifle and leave the cell trying to not be seen by anyone. If that worked I wonder what else I can do.

I ran around the hallways not sure where I am heading I just hope it leads me somewhere where I can get a ship and get out of here. Suddenly I start hearing footsteps and stop trying to find cover and hide. I just know that if I get caught they are not even going to think twice before killing me.
