Chapter 4: The Interrogation

Rey's POV:

I all of a sudden wake up in fear. My first instinct is to try to move but it didn't take me soon to realize I was unable to. I was held back completely restrained of any movement into some sort of torture device. I look at my surroundings and noticed I'm not in Takodana anymore. What just happened? I remember being in the forest and the figure that haunts me standing in front of me holding his hand towards me making me unable to move. I remember him getting in my head looking for the map to Luke Skywalker and unfortunately, I happened to look at it back in the Millennium Falcon when we were on our way to Takodana.

The last thing I remember hearing was the figure say to one of the stormtroopers to pull the division out. That he already had what he needed. Then all of a sudden everything turned black and now here I am. I take a better glance at my surroundings when I noticed the figure sitting in front of me staring back at me.

"Where am I?" I ask as soon as I see him.

"You are my guest." The figure replies to me in a monotone voice, most likely because of that mask it is wearing.

"Where are the others?" I ask really wanting to know where Finn, Han, Chewie and even BB-8 were. Did they got captured too?

"Do you mean the murderers, traitors, and thieves you call friends?" It asks me still sitting down but leaning towards me a little. Crazy how this creature would call my friends all of that, considering all that the First Order is always up to. They are nothing but pure evil. "You'll be relieved to hear that I have no idea." It says suddenly still looking at me.

That gives me no sense of relief at all. For what I know they could be dead right now by the hands of the First Order. I start to fill up with hate I just wish i could get out of here and kill this creature i don't care what it takes. I've had enough of it the galaxy would be a much better place if the First Order was gone.

"You still wanna kill me." The figure says to me suddenly. He was probably reading my thoughts.

"That happens when you are being haunted by a creature in a mask." I reply quickly somehow building up courage. Of course, i want to kill this creature i feel threatened by it. The only reason I'm alive right now is because it thinks I have information about the map otherwise it would have killed me back in the forest I just know it.

The figure suddenly puts its hands up to its mask and I hear it open up. I look back at it as it stands up removing the mask completely. It is not a creature, in fact, the figure that was haunting me all this time was all along a human. I stare back at him in shock analyzing him completely.

He was a man, not too old but not too young either. I would say he is most likely in his late 20's. His skin was pale and his hair was black and messy from being in that mask. I look back into his eyes and notice they are a shade of dark brown and he starts staring back into mine. He suddenly starts walking towards me putting his mask down making a sound that caught me off guard and made me flinch a little. He walks up to me standing just a few inches away and I try my hardest not to stare at him.

I don't know why him getting this close to me makes me so nervous. This has never happened to me before with absolutely anyone. Maybe it is because he is attractive or because at the same time I'm still a bit terrified of what he could be capable of. After all, he is the commander of the First Order he can't be a good person.

"Tell me about the droid." He says standing in front of me his hands behind his back. His voice is way different than what it was when he was wearing the mask. It's deep and husky but he still sounds emotionless. Exactly what I would expect from someone who is higher up in the First Order, emotionless.

"He's a BB unit with a selenium drive and a thermal hyperscan vindicator —" I reply a bit of nervousness in my voice.

"He's carrying a section of a navigational chart. We have the rest, recovered from archives of the Empire. We need the last piece. And somehow, you convinced the droid to show it to you." He says interrupting me from what I was saying. He takes a pause before he starts talking again. "You," he says taking another small pause. "A scavenger."

I look down a bit confused trying to avoid looking at him. How does he know who am I? I suddenly look up and my eyes meet his again and I froze.

"You know I can take whatever I want." He says and I stare back at him in fear. He suddenly moves closer and moves his hand towards me. I recoil but I have nowhere to go since I'm tied up to whatever this thing is.

I can feel his hand a few inches away from my face. I look back at him as I start to feel a foreign energy passing between us, and energy being transmitted by him to me and vice versa. But suddenly it's gone and he manages to gain an advantage in me. I try to restrain myself from slipping mentally but it's way harder than what I thought.

He moves his head closer to me and keeps his hand extended towards my face. My breath starts getting heavier by the effort I'm trying to do to maintain him out of my head and also by his proximity. "You're so lonely..." He says suddenly being able to get in my head. I look away from him and start shaking tears start forming in my eyes but I'm still trying to push him out of my head. "So afraid to leave..." He says again after a small pause. I can tell he is analyzing my every movement he knows I'm trying to resist him but he keeps overpowering me. He slightly smiles to himself and continues. "At night, desperate to sleep..." He says again getting closer and closer to me to a point I can feel his breath against my face and neck. "You imagine an ocean. I see it — I see the island..." He says not moving away from me.

Suddenly he takes a longer pause as if one of my thoughts shook him a bit, but he tries to shrug it off. "And Han Solo." He suddenly says but I can sense a bit of pain in his voice when he mentions Han's name. "You feel like he's the father you never had... He would've disappointed you." He says quickly trying to move on from that one thought of mine.

"Get out of my head." I say demandingly still trying to resist him but someone it's not doing much.

He takes a few steps back away from me but his hand is still extended towards my direction. I look back at him and he starts speaking.  "I know you've seen the map. It's in there... and now you'll give it to me." He says demandingly but suddenly some unknown strength starts building up inside me. He looks back at me a bit surprised by my attempt to resist him. "Don't be afraid I feel it too."

"I'm not giving you anything." I say leaning towards him my voice a bit breathy but I try my best to remain calm.

"We'll see." He says and stares deeply back at me his hand still extended towards me.

I look back at him and stare back intensely fighting him off over domination of my head and its working. His determined expression starts to break apart as well as his confidence. I managed to push him away completely from my thoughts and memories. My strength grows by the second and I can tell he is feeling less certain as his arm starts losing its steadiness.

All of a sudden I realized I was able to manage to get inside his own head. I stare back at him amazed of the revelations I'm getting from him.

"You... you're afraid." I say looking back at him defyingly. "That you'll never be as strong as Darth Vader." I say his hand moving away from me instantly and he takes a step back finally my body gets released from his hold.

I notice the expression from his face breaking completely, he is confused even rattled. I breathe heavily and keep staring back at him proud of myself as he picks up his mask and exits the room leaving me tied up to the interrogation chair.

How was I able to do all of that?

AN: Hi everyone, hope you all are enjoying the story.  I know that so far the story is completely the same as in the movie but the twists are coming soon in certain points and that will determine how the next books I'm writing are going to change. With this movie, in particular, I don't feel the need to change much for the story what I'm going to be doing most is getting into detail with the characters thoughts and personalities. Also i would like to know if you all would mind if i did POV's of other characters such as Finn, Poe, Leia and even Han. I would really appreciate some feedback.
