Evangeline's P.O.V

Tonight was suppose to be some kind of carnival. And unfortunately for me, I was going to the carnival alone.

"You could hang out with Roz and I," Harvey offered me.

"It's fine. Maybe I'll convince my parents to go with me," I shrugged.

"Hey, Harvey. Eva," Theo said walking into the classroom.

"What's up Theo?" I asked.

"You and Roz are going to that carnival, right?" Theo asked Harvey.

"Yeah. Apparently, with Sabrina and Nick. You can totally come with us too," Harvey tells him.

"What about Eva?" Theo asked.

"I think I'm just gonna go with my family if they want to. But if you don't have anyone to go with you, I can be your platonic plus one," I tell him.

"Oh. I was actually thinking about asking that new guy Robin to go with me," Theo said, sitting down in front us.

"That's awesome. His hair is so cool," Harvey said.

"Yeah. Go for it," I tell Theo.

"The only thing is I've never asked anyone out before," Theo tells us.

"Gotcha," Harvey said. He thought about something for a moment.

"What if you asked him to go with all of us? As a group thing? But then we can all peel off and leave you two alone," Harvey said.

"Yeah, that sounds slightly less scary," Theo said, gripping a little tight to his drum sticks.

"To tell you the truth, I'm feeling a little nervous with Roz these days too. I think she wants us to take it to the next level," Harvey tells us. "But I I've never been to the next level and I just, you know, wanna be ready for when it happens, if it happens- but, like, do I bring it up to her or-"

Harvey was interrupted when Roz walked into the room. I smiled up at her as she looked at us three.

"Hey, guys. Sorry I'm late. What? What did I miss?" Roz asked before sitting down.

"About me being forever alone," I tell Roz.

"What? What about Winston, the football player?" Roz asked me.

"He's nice but we have absolutely nothing in common," I tell her.

"Well there's gotta be at least one person who'd want to take to the carnival tonight," Roz said. I just shrugged at her before looking down.

After school, I noticed both my parents were home. As well as my siblings.

"Hey, do you guys wanna go to the carnival tonight?" I asked.

"Well we were going to go on a date tonight because your mother has the night off from the hospital," my dad tells me.

"I'm already going with friends," My younger sister, Paige tells me.

"And I want to play video games here at home," My younger brother, Christian, tells me.

"Great," I said.

"We'll drop you two off before we go over to Riverdale and have our date night," my mom tells me and my sister.

"Thank you," I said.

When we got to the carnival, my sister had already ditched me for her friends. I told her that I'd text her before we had to go which she was okay with.
