"Anna! We leave in ten!" Steve McGarrett shouted up the stairs to his eight-year-old daughter. Anna jumped around her room, after she finished packing her bag. She was thrilled, today was the day that her school was going on a trip field to the forest for a survivalist and nature course. Anna bounced down the stairs her backpack thumping against her back. She skidded into the kitchen where her father was standing leaning with his back against the bench, drinking his coffee. His warm sea green eyes softening when they landed on his daughter who was the spitting image of her mother. She danced around in a circle, her small face split with a grin. Steve's eyes filled with light as he watched his young daughter dance around. "Have everything, little bird?" Anna nodded, her father finished his coffee, and placed his cup in the sink. The duo headed out to the car. Steve drove at the speed limit which would have shocked Danny had he been in the car, but Steve would now always drive carefully whenever his daughter was in the car with him. When he pulled up to the gates of her school, he looked over at his daughter in the passenger seat, the small girl grinned up at him. Steve leaned over and kissed his daughter's forehead, "be good, listen to your teachers. Love you." Anna nodded and hugged her father's neck before jumping out the car and running inside the tall building. Steve drove off in his usual rushing manner, he now drove slower as he had you but today, he drove off in his previous manner.

Anna listened intently to her teacher as they sat on the bus, they were about to disembark to go on their survivalist/nature course. It was a basic course; she knew that, and they would probably cover most of the information her Navy SEAL father had already taught her. Anna jumped off the bus with her best friend, they were each other's buddies. Her best friend was Annamarie. They stood off to the side so that their classmates could also disembark. Anna bounced on the balls of her feet. The instructor was introduced, and Anna's class moved to the small clearing. They sat in a semi-circle surrounding the instructor. It had only been half an hour when a strange car pulled up hurriedly. There was a gunshot and the class of eight-year olds screamed in fear, they wanted to scatter but fear kept them in place. Shouted commands kept them frozen, their teacher and the nature instructor tried to keep them calm. Out of the corner of her eye Anna saw a car pull up and then back out.

Steve's phone rang, while he was completing his paperwork. "McGarrett." His face drained of blood and his heart thudded painfully against his chest. He hung up, Danny looked up to Steve's office as he walked past and recognised the pained, stunned, white faced look on Steve's face as the same he had when Grace had been kidnapped. "Steve?" Steve jumped up at Danny's inquiry into his office. "Anna's class has been kidnapped." Danny's own face paled, Anna his little niece, Steve's daughter, who was practically Grace's sister. "We'll find them, Anna will be okay." Danny rounded up Chin and Kono, telling Steve that Chin would take the lead on this one as Steve's daughter was in danger. Steve had reigned in his Navy SEAL training and had a horribly calm and composed demeaner.

When they arrived, the children had been taken back on the bus with the teacher and the instructor. There was a gunman on the bus and another near the front holding a child by the arm, a gun near their head. Steve's breath caught in his throat as he recognised the small girl being held hostage. "That's Anna." Danny breathed in, "Do not do anything stupid, okay? That's your little girl and she will want you to come home to her." Steve nodded jerkily.

The bus had a back door, so Steve and Chin crept to the front so that Anna could see that her father and uncle were here and ready to save her and her classmates. Kono and Danny quietly opened the back door, and Kono crept in, she quickly and quietly subdued the first gunman. They began pulling all the kids off the bus with the help of the teacher and the instructor moving them to a second school bus that Danny had arranged. Kono crept forward, Chin kept the gunman's attention on him while Steve kept Anna's attention on him. Kono stepped behind the gunman and pressed her gun to the base of his neck. Danny had moved to the front of the bus and was aiming his gun at the man. "Drop your weapon. Let her go." The man pressed the gun a little more harshly into her head, Anna whimpered, it took all of Steve's willpower to not shoot the man. The gunman let Anna go, when Kono pressed her gun harder into his neck. Anna jumped down and raced into her father's arms. He picked her up and held her small frame against his. Steve held her in his arms using his considerable Navy strength, she curled her legs around his waist, resting her head on his shoulder. Kono had taken the man's gun and had gone back for the other with Chin, while Danny took the other man and handcuffed him.

"What to do the honours?" Steve asked Anna, she grinned nodding. "Book 'em Danno!" Danny laughed, at his niece, Steve attempted to sound put out as he complained, "how come she can call you that and I can't?" Danny handed the man off to a uniformed cop who had given you a high five when he passed on his way to take the man. "Because I like her more than you, Steven." Anna giggled, Steve let her down and she hugged Danny, before hugging Chin and Kono. Steve kissed her forehead and allowed her to go hug her friend Annamarie before she came back to ride home with her father, while her classmates disembarked to greet their own parents. Steve hugged his daughter once more, happy she was back in his arms.
