"I'm not okay Soph"

Still ~Niall's POV~

"Sophia! Y-you're h-here!" Liam stutters nervously, wiping his eyes with the back of his hands. She hurriedly runs over to us, umbrella in hand as the rain continues to pour heavily. As she reaches us, Liam engulfs her in a hug, making her drop the blue umbrella in her hands.

"Liam! Are you okay?" she questions, holding his head in her hands, looking into his sad and miserable brown eyes.

"I-I'm . . .f-fine. . " he hiccups as Sophia rubs his back in soothing circles. After awhile of crying and hiccuping, he finally calms down long enough to be able to talk to her.

OH! One thing! (He-he) Sophia doesn't have any clue about Danielle or the incident around it, so after that day we all promised to never speak of the incident again as well as forget it ever happened.

"Why are you out here all alone?" she questions full of concern. "I'm not alone, Niall and Zayn are here with me" he says as he turns his head pointing towards us. "Liam" she sternly says as she furrows her eyebrows.

No words leave Liam's mouth, so Sophia grabs his hands and holds them gently in hers. He sighs softly before looking up to face her directly, "Danielle I will never forgive myself for what I let happen that day, for not being able to save you." he utters the words I thought weren't possible.

What the hell is he doing?! Did he just call her Danielle?

Ah Damn it! At this rate he's going to have to tell her everything, and I don't think Liam can handle telling her about the woman he used to love so dearly. Especially when he was about to propose. . (Ring on the side)

Soph looks at Liam in confusion as she slightly tilts her head, "Danielle? Babe who is this Danielle?" she questions trying to get his attention.

Shit!

"Just a memory from the distant past" he mumbles as he turns his head towards the headstone. She doesn't say anything, trying to figure out the meaning to his words, she gently pulls his face so that he is looking directly at her. Tear were welling up in his eyes, as she wiped the tears that had already fallen down his tear stained cheeks. Giving him a warm smile, before taking his hands in hers once more as to comfort him.

Liam sighs softly, "I came here because this is where they buried her. I can can still hear her sweet voice ringing in my head, reminding me that everything is going to be okay, yet everything is far from okay it's down right horrid. I'm the reason she is dead, the reason she isn't here. . in my arms, it's all my fault. I hate that she can't be here to enjoy her life." he looks away turning his attention back to the headstone, surrounded by flowers and roses of all colors especially blue and purple.

Why would there be more blue and purple flowers of all colors? There I go again! Questioning the little things.

I look back at Zayn with worried eyes, he sighs softly, "Don't worry love just let him be", he calmly reassures. Looking back at my boyfriend, who is just staring straight up at the clouds, I sigh in defeat, entangling our hands together.

He's right, Zayn's right. When is he never right? Never! He's always right! Liam and Sophia are strong enough to get through this together. He is stronger with Sophia than he ever was with Danielle, and I know he'll do what's right. I just know he will, he has to, for Sophia's sake.

I sat next to Zayn under a cherry tree, resting my head on his shoulder, staring up at the grey ominous clouds looming overhead.

~Liam's POV~

"Love. . are you-" Sophia spoke up. "No. " I cut her off curtly, "I'm not okay Soph" running my hand through my damp brown locks, a heavy sigh leaves my mouth.

I'm far from okay. .

My gaze shifts from Sophia to the water droplets dripping from stem of a baby plant, as I continue to stare aimlessly at the mesmerizing water droplets that kept on falling into small puddles. She coughs slightly, snapping me out of my trance, I turn towards her and notice her coughing and shaking. Immediately, my hands grab ahold of hers as I lifted her in my arms, bridal style, towards the small gazebo like hut a few feet away from us.

Walking up the steps as I placed her on the old and faded white bench,as I sat down cuddling up to her. She lays her head on my chest letting out a slight cough.

Now it'll be all my fault if she gets sick from being out here in the rain. Why can't I do anything right! Damn it!

There was silence, but it was a good silence and as much as I just wanted to lay here watching the rain fall in silence, I couldn't. She needs to know why I came out here, why I'm like this.

I take in a deep breath, "Soph can I ask you a question?" she nods. "Have I ever told you about Danielle?" her eyes grow big at the mention of the name. She closes her eyes, taking a deep breath before opening them, and then slightly nods for me to continue.

Okay. . well here goes nothing. . .

"A few years ago on this very day, something bad occurred" I look up at her, and she nods allowing me to continue the story.

Taking a deep breath I closed my eyes, exhaling as I turned my gaze towards Danielle's headstone. She places her hand lightly on my arm, making me look up into her reassuring eyes. My eyes stayed locked on the headstone, "Way before I met you there was another person in my life, who I truly loved with all my heart, my love for her was so strong that I'd do anything for her no matter what. Her name was Danielle Peazer, I met her during my time in the X-Factor. She was one of the dancers on the show, but of all the girls there she was the one who stood out the most" I continued to stare at the headstone, with a blank expression on my face, temporarily numb from all the emotional stress.
