I want you back

It's been a month since I last time saw Adrein. Right now, I was at my apartment. The door bell rang and I went to see who it was. It was a man with a large bouquet of beautiful white roses. "Miss Marinette Dupain cheng?" He said. I took the flowers from him and said "Thanks". I closed the door and placed the bouquet on the table. There was a note in it written on a card. I picked up the card and there was written "Good luck in your new job". I turned the card to see from whom it was, Adrein Agreste... I picked up the bouquet and I was going to throw it in the dustbin but then stopped and placed it back on the table sighing. "He still looks after you" Tikki said. "Correction tikki He spy me" then I didn't say anything to her. I took my bag and locked my apartment to go for my new job. I took bus and soon after an hour I reached my destination. I got  my new job in audrey fashion and it wasn't that difficult to get job here as I already had worked in the top fashion designing company of Paris. I was an assistant designer of the company's one of the top designer, Jake Hyde. I took my place outside his office as my desk was there. I saw him coming and stood up from my seat and said "Good morning Mr.Hyde". "Mari please just call me Jake" he said and gave me an expresso. "Do you like expresso?" he asked. "Yeah umm- I do... well thank you" I said and he went to his office. The day went very easily without any problem. I got back home and when I entered I saw how silent it was. Alya was on a trip with Nino for a week or more.
Next day when I woke up, I remembered that today is Nath's exhibition so I decided to get ready nicely.

Before leaving I checked my phone and there was a video from alya of her and nino. They were on beach enjoying each other's company. In video they were telling me that they are okay and enjoying their trip. Between that Nino said I should ask my bro to take you out on trips too. They weren't knowing that I left the job. I didn't wanted to spoil there mood on their vacation. I stopped the video. I got a call from my mom and picked it up, she was knowing that I left the job. She asked me how I was and how's everything going but then she asked "are you ever going to tell me sweetie that why you left the job?". "You can say fundamental differences, I didn't fit in there" I said while breaking the petals of the white roses who were drying up know. Then I went to work. After I was done I got up from my place and saw Jack coming out of the office. He had some papers in his hands so I asked him "Are those for me?". "Oh don't worry they can wait, by the way looking good today, going out somewhere?" he asked. "Oh yeah, one of my friend has his photograph exhibition today so I was going to see it" I said. "That's great. Did you designed it by yourself, I mean your dress?" he asked. "Yeah, I like to be original" I said. "Ok see you tomorrow" he said. "Thank you and see ya" I said and left. I reached the exhitbiton and started strolling around. When I reached the midway of the exhibiton I gasped. There were six large sized photos of mine. I was staring at my photos with wide eyes and open mouth. "Mari you came" I heard Nath shouting. He hugged me and when he pulled away, my mouth was still open. "Nath, this is like... so much of my face in here" I said. "If I would have asked you, you would have been like I am too shy" he said. "yeah" I said. "But you... I mean just look at you. It's my best stuff" He said. "They are so..." I tried to say. "Do you like them" he asked. "They are so large" I said. A woman came to Nath and started whispering something into his ears While I was busy staring at my photos. "Well... somebody likes them. They just bought all six" Nath said. "All six?" I said. "We need to meet tonight okay?" he said and that woman again called him and he went to her.  I once again stared at my photos but when I turned my breathing stopped. Adrein was there, standing few foots away from me, looking straight in my eyes. He wasn't in his suits, instead he was wearing a black hood with black rugged jeans. I started breathing heavily and stared at him. He walked towards me and now standing one foot away. "Marinette..." He said. I bite my lip but immediately stopped and said "that was you... one who bought all of these photos of mine". "I don't like strangers gawking at you" he said. "Why are you here?" I asked him. "For you" he said. "uhh..." I said and started walking away. "Mari please-" he said. I stopped and looked at him. "Can we please talk somewhere privately?" he asked. "No" I said. "Look, you know that I am not very good at convincing or something like this but I want to start again" he said. "Adrein I don't know if it is a good idea" I said because I was still hurt. "Just talk... have dinner with me, Ok? Just talk" he said. I thought for a second and then said "Ok I will have dinner with you because I am hungry, but we are ONLY talking and that is it" I said and he smiled. It was a real and genuine smile. "Hold on" I said to him and went to Nath to tell him I am leaving. He looked at Adrein and he understood why I was leaving. He didn't question much and let it go. We came out of the exhibition place and started walking. We entered in an empty alley and suddenly he pushed me to the wall. We stared at each other for few seconds before started kissing. I pulled away by saying "Adrein, I can't do this". "I am sorry I just couldn't control myself... but I promise that now we are only going to talk and have dinner nothing else" he said. I agreed to him and we walked to a hotel. We took our seats and ordered our foods. "Ok... let's talk" I said starting the conversation. He seemed hesitant at first so I passed him a smile. "I want you back..." he said. "And like what... nothing... just a toy" I asked him. "No marinette, not at all, you were never a toy or something" he said. I didn't say anything. "I want to start again" he said again. "But I don't see how?..." I said and continued "you said to me that it's the way you are". "I am working on it" he said. "Working on what Adrein. Till the time you won't open up to me I will never understand" I said. He sighed and said "What you want to know?" he asked. "Everything..." I said. The waiter came and placed our foods and went away. I was knowing there are more then one secret so I decided to ask him one by one. "So why don't you start by telling me how did you got these cuts" I asked. After a pause he said "Ok so... It all started when once I got in an argument with my father. He slapped me that day. I thought he regreted it but... I was wrong. Day by day his punishments and torture increased. These cuts are also given by him." he said. I was staring at him in disbelief. How can a father do this to his own son. "That basement... that broken glasses, chains, belts and... blood stain... that blood was... your..." I said on the verge of crying. "It was my father's punishment room. He used belts and chained me but one day it went too far when he used broken glasses, just the day before he was arrested. He knew he was going to get arrested so he let out his anger on me" Adrein said while not making eye contact with me. "Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you asked for help?" I said in a breaking voice. "I was young that time. I wasn't having any idea what's going on with my life. Everything was always planned for me so I didn't understood" he said. "After your father was arrested... why didn't you contacted with anyone?" I asked. He didn't answer not even looked towards me. It was clear he was ashamed because he never stopped him and let it happen. That habit of controlling and punishments, he have got from his father. Half of the things were clear to me now. "Ok, I guess it's enough for today" I said. "So uhh... As I said that I want you back... I would like to negotiate, like no rules... no punishments, I mean I want everything in the right way this time" he said. I started speaking while saying "No rules... No punishments and

No more secrets..."

"I can do that" he said and finally looked at me and smiled. "So you are ready to do umm.. what you call it girlfriend thingy" I said pursuing my lips trying not to laugh. He shrugged. "What about being control freak" I asked. "I won't need that because I need you more" he said. We had dinner and then went to his car. Gorilla drived to my home. I got out of the car and Adrein handed me a gift box. I looked at him raising eyebrows. "Your things, untouched" he said and I understood he meant to say laptop, phone and car keys because I found that red car alreay parked here. I was hesitant to take but I knew there was not point in rejecting so I just took it from him. I bite my lip and realized a second later that what effect it have on Adrein when I do it. It was on his face that how much he was trying to control himself. I melted on his puppy face which he was giving me. This face reminded me of high school Adrein who used to give me this face for croissants. He knew that I always melted at his puppy face. I give up and went to give him a kiss. Who knew during high school that the puppy faces he gave me for croissants after 5 years he will be giving for kisses. He slowly pushed me towards the wall and then kissed my neck. I giggled at his actions. "Ok that's it" I said. "I will call you tomorrow" he said and opened the gate for me. "Ok, good night" I said and went in. I went to my room and opened the gift box. I took out the phone and there was already a message from Adrein.

I am damn sure that he would have smiled on my message. I then went to close the curtains of my room. But I wasn't knowing that while I was pulling up the curtains someone was watching me from down the street...
