(Betty's POV)

When Sweetpea left I had felt lonely for a few seconds. I enjoyed being around him for such a long time and considering he stayed the night my anxiety level was relatively low today.
While I was getting dressed, I remembered his soft lips on mine and I closed my eyes.

This relaxing feeling was new, it felt amazing not worrying about something for once. I shivered from the cold autumn air coming through my window.

Consequently, I closed the windows and turned on my heater.
I decided to wear black skinny jeans today along with a blue shirt and to loosen my ponytail for once.

When I went outside, I encountered my family already ready at the breakfast table.

"Good morning Elizabeth. Have you had a good night?" Mum was in a good mood and hugged me.

"I did, thank you for asking."

Polly sad at the table and stared at her toast. She didn't even touch it.

"Polly, you should eat something. We're not kicking you out. You can still come home as much as you like, but the Sisters of Quiet Mercy are going to help you handle the situation with the pregnancy better than we can," Mum told Polly and gently stroked her cheek. She sighed.

"I know. I'm just not hungry. The pregnancy makes me sick in the morning," she answered and covered her mouth with her hand. Only to stand up and rush to the toilet.

"A real Cooper girl, isn't she?" Dad whispered to Mum and she rolled her eyes playfully.

"Mum? Can we talk for a second?" I asked calmly. I figured using her good mood for telling her I was seeing someone was the best thing to do right now.

We went to the kitchen.
"What's up, honey?" she asked me and raised her eyebrow.

"I just wanted to tell you that I'm seeing someone. As in dating." My voice didn't sound as strong as I would have liked it to.

Mum's smile faded. "Please don't say you're pregnant, too."

"No, of course not. We haven't gotten to that part and I don't think we will soon," I tried to calm her down.

She sighed and then put on another smile. "Who is it?"

My smile grew even bigger by thinking about him. "Do you remember when I was on that date? Well, we kissed a few times and we talked about our feelings. I don't know where it is going to lead but... I enjoy this."

Mum raised an eyebrow but remained happy. "I want you to be happy, Elizabeth. Just don't try to get pregnant as well, I don't want to be a mother of two teen Moms. Also, you still haven't told me his name. If I remember correctly, you didn't even tell me back then."

I tilted my head. "Yeah, right. Uhm. His name is Sweetpea."

Mum's smile faded a little. "Like the flower?"

I nodded and she sighed. "If he has a name like that, he comes from the Southside, doesn't he? Educated people of our neighborhood give their sons better names."

Now my smile vanished as well. "Don't call him uneducated. He is from the Southside but that doesn't matter. I like him, isn't that enough?"

Mum glanced at me and then pulled me into a hug. "Of course, I'm sorry, honey. I just experienced a lot of bad things on the Southside when I was a Serpent. But you should be happy. And if he is the reason for your happiness, I won't stand against it. But please keep out of the Serpent business, will you?"

Oops. Well, would I tell her that now? I decided not to, just to keep her in the light mood.
I nodded and then got upstairs to get my bag for school.

"See you later. Bye Mum, Dad, Polly," I shouted and left the house.

After a few minutes of walking I heard a familiar noise. Sweetpea's motor bike appeared behind me. I stopped walking.
"Long time no see," I joked and smiled at him. How was I supposed to greet him? With a hug? A kiss?
He handed me a helmet and decided for us not to have a proper greeting. I mean, we saw each other less than thirty minutes ago, but it still bothered me a little.

We drove to school. I was excited to see if we would walk to class together and if he would kiss me good bye. But sadly, when we entered the building one of our teachers appeared and asked him to come with her. He gave me a friendly wink and went with her.

I sighed and went to my locker where I found Toni.
"Hey, wanna walk to class together?" I asked and she agreed.
It was a fun day.

Until I came out of my last class and saw Sweetpea sweaty and out of breath.

"Betty, finally. I need you to come with me."
