You had a routine, one that you liked to follow, and one that you were not excited about changing. In fact, there were few people who could convince you to change it, one of them being Wendy. The two of you had been dating for few years and since that moment it was like she spent her time purposely trying to mess up your perfectly planned days. She called you in the middle of the night for no good reason, she loved to push you out of your routine to go on what she called ‘spontaneous adventures’ around the block, or to the grocery store at the oddest times of day. Then, for some reason or another, you had given her a key to your apartment so you now had on your schedule that she would show up at random times. Or, that you would come home to find her standing in your kitchen eating cereal out of the box.
Or, in times like tonight, you’d be sitting comfortably on your bed, getting ready to go to sleep when you hear the familiar creak of the door when it opens. Closely followed by footsteps of someone who was very obviously trying to be quiet. You watched from your bedroom as Wendy tiptoed around your apartment before heading to where you were sitting.

“Hey! Y/N, I brought horror movies.”
You looked from the giant smile on her face to the box of dvd’s in her hand, “I don’t own a dvd player.”

She nodded a bit before jumping next to you onto the bed, “It’s okay, I kind of figured you wouldn’t.”

“Then why did you-”

“Ideas for what we could watch.” She reached across you and grabbed the remote, turning the tv on and searching for the name from the first dvd she brought. Her arm rested around your shoulder as she flipped through the movies, and your head moved to her chest without thinking.

You eyed the box in her hands, “How many do you have?”

“Well, I have a day off tomorrow, and it’ll be Saturday so, as many as we can.”

You nodded a bit and stifled a yawn as she finally found what she was looking for, she turned it on and pulled you closer to her as the movie started,

“If I get scared you’ll help me right?”

“No, I’m too tired, if there’s a murderer in the house you’re on your own.” You joked lightly. About halfway through the second movie you could barely keep your eyes open anymore, it was late- early might have been the better word- and she was very comfortable.

You looked at her tiredly, muttering one question before going to sleep, “Why do you spend so much time at my place?”

She looked at you for a moment before kissing the top of your head and whispering to you as you fell asleep, “You make me feel safe.”
