I heard a repeating beeping noise in my left ear.
I opened my heavy eye lids, barely, and I tried to sit up, but I was too weak.
"Hey." I heard someone whisper. I looked over and saw Beastboy and joy filled me.
"Hi." I said, but my voice was faint.
When I looked at him, his black eye seemed better, but it was still very noticeable, and, the cut on his head was slowly turning into a scar.
I tried to sit up again.
He came beside me and sat his crutches down...
Wait,
Crutches?
His arm lifted me up, and I was now a little higher than I was before.
He noticed me eye balling his crutches and cast.
"You like them? Cyborg made them for me." He chuckled.
They were green, of course.
"Yeah." I said ,"Hows your rib?"
"It's good! Nothings there! The only thing that hurts now is my leg." He said, joyfully.
"If you give me a few, I can heal that too if you-" he cut me off immediately.
"No. You passed out healing that, I'm fine. It just throbs every now and then, but seriously I'm fine. I'm not letting you do that again." He said sternly.
I sighed and rolled my eyes, irritated.
"Don't give me that attitude. I'll wack you." He joked. I laughed.
"How... how long was I out?" I asked, rubbing my head trying to soothe a headache that started to form.
"A day. Not too long, Cyborg was expecting you to be out a lot longer." When he finished Starfire came in.
"Friend Beastboy!" She said, embracing him but, not as hard as she normally did when she hugged. It wasn't bone crushing.
"Hey Star." He said, embracing her back.
When he did, his crutches fell on the floor.
"My biggest apologies." She said and picked them up for him
"It's alright dude." He said placing them back under his arms.
She looked over and noticed I was awake and smiled at me.
"Friend Raven! It is so good to see you!" she made the advancement to hug me, but, then scooted back.
I sighed, and knew I had to face my fear.
A fear I shouldn't have had to begin with.
"It's okay Starfire." I said, holding my arms up the best I could.
She hesitated, but eventually hugged me, not near as tight as she normally did.
My anxiety shot up but I fought it and I hugged her back.
It only lasted like 3 seconds and she pulled away, her eyes teared up.
She looked at Beastboy and left the room.
"Was it something I said?" I asked him.
"No. I think she was happy." He stated bluntly.
"Happy?" For the love of God Beastboy she was crying , she wasn't happy.
"Like... have you ever cried tears of joy? I think that's what she was doing." He said. Now I understood a little more.
A sudden wave of anxiety hit me.
