Positives and Negatives {Sonourge}

SEVENTEEN

__Sonic collapsed on the couch as he was talking to Tails on the phone. He was explaining to him what they learned about Fiona's murderer. While he spoke with Tails, Scourge was standing by the window and watching Buck, who had his nose pressed against the glass. Scourge had been upset the entire trip back. He didn't want to give the watch back to Eggman or leave without doing any damage. But Sonic had to make sure things were done his way. He didn't want Scourge to make things worse.
__When Sonic hung up the phone, he threw it on the coffee table and walked over to Scourge. He stood next to him and watched Buck, who didn't move from the glass. "At least we're making progress," He said. "We'll find that robot and I'll allow you to destroy it on your own."
__Scourge nodded. "Yeah." 
__"What's wrong?" Sonic looked at Scourge.
__Scourge shrugged his shoulders. "You do things differently."
__Sonic snorted, but he wasn't annoyed. "Uh yeah! We're counter-parts of each other, remember?"
__"I know that!" Scourge exclaimed. "I'm just not used to this. Fiona and I saw things in the same way and we didn't care about how other people saw them. It's just weird."
__Sonic nodded and looked back at Buck. "Well, don't force yourself to adapt to it right away. That's all I can say about that." Sonic then perked his ears when he saw a female deer walk out of the woods. "Woah! Look at that!"
__Buck had turned around and looked at the doe that had stopped at the edge of the woods. Buck had slowly walked over to the doe and started sniffing noses with it. The doe then started hopping up in down in delight and Buck started doing the same. Suddenly, a little fawn came out of the woods and stood behind the doe when she stopped jumping. Buck had stopped as well and went to smell the little fawn.
__"Well I'll be," Sonic said in amazement. "He's already got a family."
__"Figures," Scourge added.
__Buck then started walking into the woods with the doe and fawn following after him. He took a moment to look back at the house before continuing on.
__Sonic laughed a little before walking back to the couch to sit on it. "That's the end of that."
__Scourge followed Sonic and sat on the arm of the couch. "Good riddance."
__Sonic stretched his arms up until he was satisfied and sighed. "Now I only need to worry about one helpless thing," He then smirked when Scourge looked at him.
__"Excuse me!?" Scourge exclaimed before returning Sonic's smirk. "I ain't helpless!"
__Sonic chuckled as he laid down on his back. "Then why are you here?"
__"You forced me to come here, dumbass!" Scourge pointed out before he flipped him off.
__Sonic put on a fake shocked expression as Scourge put his hand down. "How dare you!" He said jokingly. "That's not a nice gesture to a prince."
__Scourge rolled his eyes as he started kicking his legs out while on the arm of the couch. "Whatever! I don't give a fuck!" He then lost his balance and fell on Sonic's legs.
__Sonic sat up immediately and pulled his legs back. "Watch it or I'll hit you!" He said playfully as he stuck his tongue out.
__Scourge sat up and narrowed his eyes at Sonic while putting on a grin. "Go ahead! I'll hit you harder!"
__"Bet!" Sonic taunted while laughing. "You won't!"
__Sonic then hopped off the couch when Scourge tried tackling him. He continued to laugh before he started running when Scourge started to chase him. Sonic quickly opened and ran out the front door and tried to keep enough distance from Scourge. But he then remembered who he was running from. Scourge had caught up to Sonic quickly and tackled him. Sonic landed on his side and tried pushing Scourge off of him.
__"All right! All right! You win!" Sonic pleaded. He started chuckling when Scourge backed off. "Jesus Christ, man!"
__Scourge had his legs crisscrossed and snorted. "That's watchu get!" He then stuck his tongue out. "You don't fuck with me!" He gloated.
__Sonic giggled awkwardly as he started rubbing his side. "Yeah, no kidding." Sonic then smiled as he looked at the grass, which was dancing by the wind delicately. I remember doing stupid stuff like this with the others. It's nice to be this way again. He looked at Scourge and felt his body heat up. 
__Scourge was looking at him in confusion before he grinned awkwardly. "What?"
__Sonic kept his smile as he replied. "I gotta say, you're the best thing that's happened to me in a while."
__Scourge's grin turned into a frown. He narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean by that?" He asked, sounding a little uncomfortable.
__Sonic dropped his smile and flattened his ears as he looked away. "It's not...I mean..." Sonic cleared his throat and looked back at Scourge. "You know I've been alone. All my friends have their own problems, so I never hang out with them like this anymore."
__Scourge's face showed he was relieved as he sighed. "Honestly, I can say the same thing. I've been abandoned by every so-called friends I've made. With Fiona gone, you're the only person who gets me."
__Sonic nodded while trying to hide his uncomfortable feeling. You can't do this. He told himself. This is not what he needs. He needs a friend, not something more. He smiled and tilted his head. "Don't mind my sappiness."
__Scourge laughed and shook his head. "Nah, man. I kinda like it."
__"Ew. Since when?" Sonic chuckled.
__"Don't even," Scourge said with a smile. "I'm just trying to adjust."
__Sonic was about to reply when someone tapped his shoulder. Sonic turned around and saw Tails was standing behind him. "What's going on?" Sonic asked when Tails sat down next to him.
__Tails had his phone out and was going through it. "I'm guessing you haven't seen the news yet."
__Sonic began to worry. "What happened?"
__Tails handed Sonic his phone and zoomed in on a picture. There was a pink female dog with short red hair wearing a high school uniform in the picture. She was on her back with her eyes closed and there were three long gashes from her chest to her stomach. "They just found her this morning," Tails explained. "I tried looking around the scene to see if I could find the robot, but there was nothing. And that's not all."
__Sonic flattened his ears. "What?"
__Scourge slowly scooted his way over to Sonic and Tails. "What's happening?" His eyes then went wide when he saw what was on Tails' phone.
__Tails put his phone away and flattened his ears. "It wasn't just that girl. They found six bodies in the past week. Only one of them was male."
__"How is this robot killing everyone so easily!?" Scourge exclaimed. "It's just a stupid machine!"
__"With fingers like Knuckles' shovel claws," Sonic pointed out.
__"The fuck are shovel claws!?"
__"They're these metal gloves Knuckles wears sometimes," Sonic explained. "With those, he can dig through giant rocks with ease."
__"Anyway," Tails continued. "We don't know how, but this robot has been luring those people to him. I just can't find out what it is."
__"Well, how do you know that information then?" Scourge questioned.
__"That dog was with a group of friends before she was killed. They said she was talking with them when she suddenly started walking away and, in their words, was like a zombie. She was fixated on something."
__Sonic started pulling on the grass. "It just keeps on getting better and better!" He growled. "How are we supposed to find that robot!?"
__"Sally and I have been talking," Tails replied. "Some of us are going to be hiding in places all over the city, the woods, towns, and borderlines. We're going to be watching for this robot."
__"Can't you just use cameras?" Scourge pointed out.
__Tails nodded. "Duh! We just want to ensure we find this robot. Some of us will be near these cameras if they find something."
__"Great," Sonic stood up and popped his knuckles. We'll find you, you metal piece of trash!
