Positives and Negatives {Sonourge}

FIVE

__Sonic had been laying on the ground for five minutes. Buck had laid his head on Sonic's legs, but he didn't mind. He watched the birds flying across the sky, circling and chirping at each other. Sonic sighed as he thought about the deer and Fiona. If it is Eggman, did he make another robot? Why would Eggman even make a robot just to kill whatever it wants? No other villain I know would do this. Despite being ruthless, they all have honor at least. Sonic then sat up and started rubbing Buck's head, being careful not to touch the antlers. His right ear then twitched when he heard loud footsteps from the woods. He stood up and looked into the woods.
__"Hello?" Sonic called out. When no one replied he walked into the woods. After a few minutes of walking, he found himself behind a frog crawling with his hands and feet. Flying? Sonic took one step forward when the frog turned around, extended his tongue, and slapped Sonic across the face with it. Sonic was knocked down by the impact and immediately started wiping his face. "Aw come on! That's just gross!" He complained.
__Flying laughed as he sat down with his legs crossed. "Serves you right for following me, bluey! No one dares to follow me-he-he!" He made a big smile and tilted his head with his eyes wide.
__Sonic stood up and tried to avoid eye contact with him. This frog was too creepy for him. "I think I have a right. This part of the woods is my property as well, and you're trespassing."
__Flying narrowed his eyes and set his head up. "The rules don't help anyone here, not me anyway. This world is full of baddies like me. No one cares about the rules-shmules!"
__Sonic looked at Flying and crossed his arms as he tapped his foot. "Whatever. Since you're here, can I ask you a question? I'll let you leave without getting hurt and I won't call the cops."
__Flying looked to the side and scratched his chin for a few seconds. He then looked at Sonic and leaned forward. "Okie-Dokie! Bring on the trivia!"
__What the hell is wrong with him? Sonic cleared his throat before speaking. "Did...did Scourge return to you guys okay?"
__That's when Flying leaned back immediately. He uncrossed his legs and started scratching his head. "Well, about that..."
__"What?"
__Flying looked away. "We abandoned Scourge-Perge and Miss Fiona weeks ago," He explained. "Sooo...there's no reason for my fellow green friend to come back to us."
__Sonic's ears perked upon hearing this. "Why did you abandon them!?"
__"It wasn't my idea! I liked the deadly couple-shmuple. It was Simian and the others. They wanted to leave them. I had to follow-dollo."
__"So," Sonic narrowed his eyes and gritted his teeth. "That means you don't know what happened."
__"Hm?" Flying tilted his head in confusion.
__"Fiona's dead. Scourge found her with her guts pouring out."
__"That's a shame," Flying looked down at his feet. "She was fun."
__Sonic sighed and leaned onto the tree next to him. Then Scourge is all alone. Why didn't he tell me about this? Sonic stared at Flying while he stared back. "Why did Simian and the others want to leave them?"
__"They thought Scourge-Perge and Miss Fiona were wasting their time," Flying muttered. "But I thought they were fun. Snot there was my favorite boss. He had the most fun games for me to play."
__I'm not going to ask what you mean by that. Sonic sighed again and got off the tree. "That's all I want to know. Don't take this personally, but I don't want to see your face again."
__Flying stood up and saluted to Sonic with his eyes closed. "Okay!" He then climbed up the nearest tree and glided out of sight.
__Sonic groaned as he walked back to his house. I shouldn't even be worried about Scourge right now. I need to find out who's behind all of this first. Lives are at stake. 

__Sonic was sitting on the grass with Tails and Amy. They were sitting close to Amy's house and they were discussing what was happening. When Sonic and Tails told Amy about Fiona she was shocked, but not upset. Sonic had to explain to both of them about his suspicions. Naturally, they both agreed with him.
__"But who?" Amy asked.
__"Eggman would try to kill us, but he wouldn't make a robot and have it kill random people and animals," Tails pointed out.
__"That's what I thought," Sonic nodded. "And the other villains we know don't do that either. None of them as far as I'm concerned even have some sort of large claws to cut through flesh and bone."
__Both Amy and Tails looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders.
__"By the way, how's Scourge?" Tails asked.
__"Well..." Sonic began awkwardly. "He---" He was cut off when someone tackled him and knocked him over. Sonic sat up and shook his head and saw that Scourge was there doing the same thing. "What!? What are---
__Scourge didn't let Sonic finish. He stood up and ran away. "Less talking! More running!"
__Just then, Amy pulled out her hammer and slammed it onto another hammer. Another pink hedgehog was thrown back and she glared at Amy. "That wasn't very nice! Get out of my way! This doesn't concern you!"
__"You're in our zone, Rosy!" Amy retorted. "This does concern us!"
__Both Sonic and Tails stood up and braced themselves. 
__Rosy stood up and swung her double-spike hammer behind her head. "Oh well. That just means two more hedgehogs and a fox for me to smash!" She swung her hammer and was getting ready to attack, but Amy acted first and knocked her back again.
__While the pink hedgehogs fought, Sonic ran over to them. After figuring out which one was Rosy, he rolled up into a ball and used his homing attack on her. But she was ready and knocked him back. Sonic was thrown onto Amy's house and he felt his sides stinging. "Okay! That hurt!"
__Tails ran over to help Amy fight while Sonic tried getting back up. How did she even get here? He managed to stand and he ran to pull Tails away from them. "Get a warp ring. I'll help Amy."
__Tails nodded and flew away.
__Sonic took this time to use his homing attack again, only this time hitting Rosy back while Amy distracted her. Both of them were able to knock Rosy's hammer away from her as she fell back. Amy quickly dropped her hammer and wrapped her arms around Rosy tightly to keep her from running away.
__Sonic dusted off his arm and stared at them in disappointment. "That was too easy. What were you even doing here?"
__"Please!" Rosy snorted. "Did you forget how much I wanted to smash Scourgie into pieces!? I was finally able to steal a warp ring from Dr. Kintobor and come here. And I'm not letting you stop me!"
__"Too bad," Sonic groaned. "You're not as tough or scary now."
__Rosy just grumbled while Amy rolled her eyes.
__Tails then came flying back. He landed right next to Sonic and showed him the ring.
__Sonic took the ring from Tails and threw it on the ground next to the girls. The ring grew bigger and a small portion of land showed inside it. "Be grateful I'm not considering to call the Zone Cops about this. Stay in your own zone!"
__"Oh, you're telling me to stay in Moebius when you're allowing Scourge to roam here!?" Rosy sneered. "Hypocrite!"
__"Just shut up already!" Amy growled. "You're so annoying!" Amy let go of Rosy and pushed her into the ring portal. After she went through, the warp ring grew smaller and disappeared. Amy then snorted and crossed her arms. "Still can't believe she's my counter-part."
__Sonic nodded and looked behind him. Scourge was out of sight. He looked back at Tails and Amy and pointed to the direction Scourge went. "I'll be right back."
__"Be careful," Tails warned him.
__Sonic then ran towards Scourge's direction. It took a while for Sonic to find him. He found Scourge sitting at the top of a big tree. He was panting with his sunglasses over his eyes and looking up. Sonic stood at the bottom of the tree and cupped his hands around his mouth. "Scourge!"
__Scourge put his sunglasses on his forehead and looked down at Sonic. "Is she gone?"
__"Yeah! Just sent her back to your zone!" Sonic responded. He then put his hands down and backed away from the tree. "Come down."
__Scourge hesitated before he slowly climbed down the tree. He hopped off the last branch and landed in front of Sonic with his arms crossed. "Don't go getting mad at me because I left."
__"I'm not," Sonic reassured him. "I can't really blame you anyway. But why didn't you tell me about the Destructix abandoning you?"
__Scourge's eyes grew wide. "Who told you that!?"
__"I caught Flying trespassing and I promised not to call the cops on him if he answered my questions."
__Scourge looked away and growled. "Stupid frog!" He muttered.
__"Scourge, we're going to find out who did this," Sonic said softly. "Someone's out there doing this, and we won't stop until we find them."
__Scourge uncrossed his arms and looked at Sonic. He looked uncomfortable. "Look, I never got to...thank you and your dad for trying to help," He put his hand in his pocket and pulled out a cyan-colored bandana. "I was going to give this to Fiona, but..." He shook his head and handed the bandana to Sonic.
__Sonic was surprised by this action. He never expected Scourge to show graditude for anyone. He reluctantly grabbed the bandana and examined it. Even though he wore gloves, he could feel it was soft and comforting. He couldn't stop himself from smiling as he looked at Scourge. "I...I don't know what to say."
__"Don't say anything then," Scourge grumbled. "And don't take this the wrong way either." He then turned and started walking away.
__"Hold on!" Sonic followed after him. "You're all alone out there. You could---"
__"Let me stop you right there," Scourge stopped and turned to face Sonic, his eyes narrowed and no gleam shined in them. "Don't think you can put on the hero's cape and continue to help me. I don't need your help anymore."
__"But..."
__"Don't worry, I won't be getting into trouble anymore. I'm done with that now. But that doesn't mean I'll become like you. I jut want to live my life as normal as I can get it now," He looked away and sighed as his ears flattened. "I'd prefer if I never see you again."
__"Scourge," Sonic put a hand on his shoulder. "What happened is affecting you negatively. You need someone with you at least. Right now, I'm the only one willing to help you with this."
__Scourge didn't look at him as he shrugged Sonic's hand off of him. "I don't need anyone. Don't even try to come find me. I'll only listen to you if you have information on who killed Fiona. Whoever did this is going to pay." He then walked away.
__Sonic couldn't move. He didn't know why, but Scourge's words had hurt him in a way. He sighed and looked down at the bandana. All I can do now is wear this everyday. He folded the bandana into a triangle and tied it around his neck. It was nice and soft on his neck. He then continued to stare after Scourge as he walked out of sight.
