FOUR

__Sonic opened his eyes when sunlight reached in through the window. He yawned before he sat up and stretched his arms upward until he was satisfied. He then tossed the covers off of him and got out of bed. He expected to find Scourge still sleeping when he walked into the living room, but he wasn't there. "Scourge?"
__Sonic examined the couch. The pillow was still on it while the blanket had been tossed on the floor. Sonic looked around and found that the back door was wide open. Sonic growled and started pulling his ears out of frustration. "Are you kidding me!? He left in the middle of the night!?" Sonic then let go of his ears and groaned. "Oh, never mind."
__He decided to check on the deer outside, which was still laying down with the blanket over him. The buck raised his head when Sonic walked out. Sonic grinned at the deer. "At least you didn't leave after I helped you," He knelt down on both knees and stroked the deer's neck. "You're pretty adorable for something filled with ticks," After hearing that come out of him, he withdrew his hand immediately. "You hungry?"
__The buck perked his ears and snorted. He laid his head down by the bowl of water, which was now empty.
__"I'll take that as a yes," Sonic grabbed the bowl and went back inside. As he filled the bowl with more water, he looked at his refrigerator. "Deer like lettuce, right?" He set the bowl down and grabbed a plate from the dishwasher. He then grabbed the ball of lettuce out of the refrigerator and tore some of it off. He placed the peeled lettuce on the plate and put the ball back in the fridge. He turned around and saw that the buck was limping his way into the living room. "Hey! You can't be in here!"
__The buck then yelled and fell down by the door. He let out a loud sigh and it didn't move.
__Sonic shook his head and went over to the deer. He managed to get both his arms under the deer and lifted him up. He grunted as he tried to bring him back outside. He set him down carefully and started rubbing his back. "You are surprisingly heavy for a majestic creature." He went back inside quickly and brought the bowl and plate outside. He set them down in front of the buck and watched it scarf down the lettuce. "I need to call you something. Pretty cliché, but why don't I call you Buck?"
__The deer just sneezed and continued eating.
__"Buck it is!"
__There was then knocking from the front door and Sonic went over to it, closing the back door behind him this time. He opened the front door and found his dad standing there. "Oh, hey there. What's up, dad?"
__"Just wanted to check on ya," Jules replied. "How's the green one?"
__Sonic groaned. "He left while I was sleeping. Now I got an injured deer in my backyard."
__"A deer? What happened to it?"
__Sonic motioned Jules to come inside and shut the door. He led him outside to the deer and pointed at the three gashes on his leg, which were dry and shiny from the medicine Cream put on them. "It's like what was on Fiona...just not as deep, so he's alive."
__Jules looked down at the deer and tilted his head. "Did you name him?" He asked jokingly.
__Sonic looked away. "Actually, yes. I did...kinda..."
__Jules then looked at Sonic with his red beam eyes narrowed. "You're not planning on keeping him, are you?"
__Sonic looked back at his father. "Of course not. I'm just taking care of him until he's able to walk without falling."
__Jules nodded and went back inside and Sonic followed after him. Jules had looked at the blanket on the floor and picked it up. "Did Tails find out what happened to Fiona?"
__"No, he said they were going to have to send her to a lab," Sonic replied. "But somethings up. We find Fiona dead with three longs gashes and a deer with the same kind. There's someone or something out there doing this."
__Jules put the blanket on the couch and looked at Sonic. "You might be onto something, sport. Perhaps you should talk to Sally about it?"
__Sonic nodded. "Yeah. Something must be done. I don't want this to happen to anyone else."

__Sonic walked passed the guards at the gate and entered the Acorn Kingdom. He examined the paintings on the wall as he looked for Sally's room. When he found her door open, he knocked on the door and watched Sally, who was sitting on her bed and reading a book, look up and smiled. She closed her book and ran over to hug Sonic. "Hey there, stranger!"
__Sonic giggled and hugged back. "Hey there, Britanny."
__Sally pulled back and punched Sonic's arm. "Don't compare me to her!" She smirked.
__Sonic rubbed his arm and returned her smirk. "Yeah, you right. You're more like Jeanette; a total nerd!"
__"Whatever, Theodore!" She giggled.
__"Are you calling me chubby now?" Sonic narrowed one eye at her.
__Sally laughed out loud. "A little," She then calmed down and crossed her arms. "Now what are you doing here?"
__"I need to tell you something," Sonic explained. "Something important. Did Nicole tell you about Fiona?"
__Sally nodded slowly as her ears flattened. "Yes, and I can't believe that happened to her. Sure she was bad, but she didn't deserve to die like that."
__"That same day, I found this buck with the same flesh wound."
__"So, there's someone out there killing people?"
__"Bingo," Sonic leaned on the door and sighed. "And we need to find out who's doing this."
__"My money's on Eggman," Sally sneered. "He's grown more bloodthirsty after his failed attempt at turning everyone into robots."
__"There's more than just Eggman," Sonic pointed out. "For all we know, it could be Finitevus or even Naugus. We need to find out who's behind this."
__"Agreed. I can tell Elias about all this and see what he has to say."
__"You do that," Sonic muttered. "I'll be off now."
__"Bye!"
__Sonic ran out of the castle and back to his house. He went to his backyard and sat down in front of the deer. "Don't you worry, Buck," He started rubbing the deer's face. "We'll find who did this to you." And to Fiona. He thought bitterly. He pulled his hand back and looked into the woods. Why did you have to leave like that? I get you're upset, but you can't deal with this by yourself. He then looked back at the deer. At least you have the Destructix. They'll hopefully be there for you. He sighed and laid himself down to where he only looked at the sky.
