Positives and Negatives {Sonourge}

SIX

__Sonic couldn't do anything but walk back to Amy and Tails. He was disappointed in Scourge's decisions. He knew what he was going through, but how he was behaving frustrated Sonic. Why does he have to be my opposite!? He then pushed every thought of Scourge out of his head. Stop worrying about him! If he doesn't need anyone, then so be it. You have more important things to do. He made it back to Amy's house and both Amy and Tails rushed over to him immediately.
__"You okay?" Amy asked.
__Sonic nodded. "Of course I am."
__Tails was staring at the cyan-colored bandana hanging around Sonic's neck. "Where'd you get that?"
__Sonic kept himself from looking at it or touching it with his hands. "Kinda weird, but Scourge said he was grateful for me and my dad helping him, so he gave me this."
__Amy narrowed her eyes as she pulled the bandana up a bit and looked underneath it. "It's not being tracked, right?"
__"I don't think so," Sonic reassured her as she let go of the bandana. "I thought it was nice. At least we don't need to worry about him anymore."
__"Why?" Tails narrowed one eye as both his tails twitched.
__"He says he's done with trouble," Sonic explained. "He apparently wants to live his life normally."
__"Are you sure?" Amy questioned. "This is Scourge we're talking about."
__"Well, he did say he didn't want to see me again," Sonic muttered. "Only if I had news on who killed Fiona."
__"The man just wants revenge," Tails concluded. "Who wouldn't? As long as he doesn't bother us, I don't really care for what he's doing."
__"Yeah," Amy crossed her arms and looked behind her. "Though, I guess he's staying here since there are people in Moebius that want him dead."
__"Let's not keep talking about him," Sonic said. "We need to figure out who killed Fiona."
__"I have yet to get any information from the labs," Tails remarked. "They said it could take days or weeks to find out."
__Sonic placed both hands on his hips and started tapping his foot. "I told Sally about this and she said she would tell Elias."
__Amy uncrossed her arms and looked at Sonic. "You said you had a deer with the same injuries, right?"
__"Yeah, in my backyard. But I doubt we'll get info off of him."
__"It's not like we have anyone who can understand animals," Tails grumbled.
__"Can't you invent something, Tails?" Amy asked.
__"That could take months or years, Amy," Tails pointed out. "We don't have the time. It's better to wait on the lab and figure it out with the information we get."
__Sonic sighed and crossed his arms. "They better find out quick. I don't want to find more people or animals with these marks."
__A white rabbit then came out of nowhere, hopping towards them with three gashes on its back.
__Amy shrieked when she saw the rabbit. She knelt down on both knees and picked up the rabbit. She then glared at Sonic. "Why did you have to say something!?"
__"Another one!?" Sonic leaned forward and examined the white rabbit. "God damn! Whoever is doing this works fast."
__"Why is it that the animals are surviving?" Tails asked. 
__Amy rubbed the rabbit's head carefully and stood up. "The poor thing."
__Sonic looked past Amy and saw that the rabbit had left a trail of blood. There was about six or eight feet of space between small blood splotches. He then followed the trail into the woods. He'd been running for two minutes before the trail ended. He looked around, but there was no one in sight. Not even any signs that someone was. Frustrated, he kicked at the grass and yelled out. "What did I even expect!? It's not like the culprit was going to be right here at this moment!"
__It didn't take long for Tails to catch up to Sonic. When he stopped running he looked around and sighed. "Not here, huh? Figures."
__Sonic crossed his arms and growled. He then started digging his fingers into his arms as he felt anger boiling in his stomach. "Damn it!"
__"It's okay, Sonic," Tails assured him. "I know. I want this to be over with before someone else gets hurt, too. Just keep your cool, man. It frightens me when you get mad."
__Sonic uncrossed his arms and sighed. "I know. I know. It's just...I did care about Fiona, even after she left us. Now she's gone, and Scourge, who took over our planet, is now about to go through a depression. I don't know about you, but I can't stand seeing someone like Scourge go through that."
__"Well, it's not like you're going to see him again," Tails pointed out. "You said it yourself, he doesn't even want to see you."
__Sonic broke eye contact with Tails and flattened his ears. "But when we find out who's behind this, I have to tell him. It's only fair. And I really don't want to keep seeing him that upset."
__"You need to stop thinking about him. Yeah, he's technically you, but he's not you. And he can move on like everyone else. He's not completely helpless."
__"Ugh!" Sonic slammed his side onto a tree. "I don't know what's wrong with me."
__Tails walked up to Sonic and put a hand on his shoulder. "You're a good man, Sonic. Of course you want to help someone in any way you can. You just need to know when you're diving in too deep."
__"You're right," Sonic sighed. He got off the tree and started walking back with Tails following him. "I keep reminding myself Scourge can take care of himself, yet I just can't stop."
__"That's all right. If it were me and Miles, then I'd feel the same way."
__"I don't think Miles would try so hard to get rid of you. After helping the Supression Squad with Scourge back then, even he's grateful enough to accept our help."
__"Eh!" Tails rolled his eyes.
__Sonic chuckled and shook his head. "Okay, I'll stop now."
__When they were back at Amy's house, Amy was running up to them with her phone up to her ear. "Guys, the Zone Cops are here!"
__"What!?" Sonic perked his ears. "Where!?"
__Amy stayed silent while she listened to her phone. She then looked at Sonic and pointed to the city. "Bunnie says they're in the city. It may not be our business, but this could be important."
__"You guys stay here," Sonic told them before he started running. "I'll let you know what happened!"
