Positives and Negatives {Sonourge}

NINE

__Scourge was still eating breakfast when Sonic was talking on the phone. He had called his sister to let her know he was going to go to Mobotropolis to see her, but he didn't tell her why yet. She sounded like she was excited to see him again, and so was he. They hadn't seen each other in a few years. After ending the call with Sonia, he got himself ready in the bathroom with all his things. When he was done he went over to Scourge, who was still eating. "I'm going to the city in a bit. You wanna come so you're not just sitting here all day?"
__Scourge finished eating at looked at him. He just shrugged his shoulders. "Why are you going?"
__"I need to talk to my sister about using my share of the family money to pay off your debt," Sonic explained.
__Scourge narrowed his eyes and tilted his head. "Sister?"
__Sonic nodded. "Yeah, my sister Sonia. She's the queen in Mobotropolis."
__"How do you have a sister?" Scourge asked. "I don't have one."
__Sonic crossed his arms and shrugged his shoulders. "Zones are weird. It's not just my sister anyway. I have a brother, too. So, you wanna come or not?"
__Scourge didn't say anything. He only stood up and waited until Sonic started walking and followed him.
__It took a while to push through the city and get inside the castle. This kingdom ruled over most of Mobotropolis while the Acorn Kingdom ruled a small portion and all of Knothole. The two were at the ends of the city opposite to each other. Sonia's castle wasn't as big as Elias', but it was still beautiful.
__Sonic had to stay close to Scourge as they walked passed the guards. Sonic was trying to remember where the throne room was when Sonia came out of nowhere and attacked Sonic with a death-grip hug.
__"Oh my god!" She squealed. "I missed you so much!"
__Sonic brought up the strength to hug her back and barely chuckled. "Missed you, too. Can you let go of me now? I can't breathe."
__Sonia let go of Sonic and cupped her hands behind her. She was about to say something to Sonic when she saw Scourge and stared at him in confusion. "Who's this?"
__"Just a friend," Sonic replied. "He's actually why I'm here."
__Scourge kept his arms crossed and his ears flattened. He didn't acknowledge either of them.
__Sonia just nodded and looked at Sonic. "Right, why are you here?"
__Sonic crossed his legs and looked down awkwardly. "Remember, Sonia, I'm paying for his debt now, and to do that I need to pay monthly with my share of the money."
__"Well, how much are we talking about?"
__Sonic inhaled and shut his eyes. "Five-hundred thousand dollars."
__"What!?" Sonia shrieked, making both Sonic and Scourge back up a bit. "You have to pay that much a month!?"
__"No! No! No! No! No!" Sonic interrupted. "That's the total amount. I'm paying fifty-thousand dollars monthly starting next month."
__Sonia let out a sigh and fanned herself with her hand. "Oh, thank goodness! I was not going to let you pay that much."
__Sonic laughed awkwardly as he scratched his face. "So, this is fine, right? I'll be coming here at the beginning of each month to get fifty grand and pay."
__Sonia nodded. "I guess," She then groaned. "That'll make Manic the richer out of the three of us."
__"What!? How!?"
__"I've been using my money to help benefit my city and people," Sonia explained. "Manic has barely touched anything and has actually been adding more to it."
__Sonic narrowed one eye. "Do I even need to ask?"
__"Nope! Manic has a job now. He's been getting one thousand dollars at the end of each month."
__"What kind of job is it!?"
__"He won't tell me," Sonia then looked at Scourge. "So he's the one you're paying for, right? The one you told me and dad about?"
__Sonic nodded. "This is Scourge. It's kinda hard to explain, but he's my counterpart from another zone, except he doesn't look like me anymore."
__"Why are you paying for his debt?"
__"I had to say something so the Zone Cops wouldn't take him away."
__Sonia stopped listening to Sonic and held out a hand to Scourge. "Hi! I'm Sonia by the way. I don't want to know what you've been up to, but it's nice to meet you."
__Scourge didn't look at her or tried to shake her hand. He only nodded.
__"Okay then," Sonia pulled her hand back and looked at Sonic.
__"He's not exactly himself right now," Sonic remarked. "Shit happened and we're all upset and stressed."
__"Nothings changed then," Sonia muttered. "So, I'll be expecting you to come back next week then?"
__"Yes," Sonic nodded. "And I can take fifty grand out a month without problems, right?"
__"Yeah, but you'll be below half of what you have by the end of..." Sonia trailed off and pondered for a little bit. "Ten months."
__"How much do I have?"
__"Don't take this the wrong way, but I don't wanna tell you."
__"Gotcha," Sonic then smiled. "How have you been? Is ruling by yourself hard?"
__"It has its moments," She replied. "Still wish us and Manic would've ruled together like we planned."
__"We were teenagers back then," Sonic pointed out. "You would've gotten sick us of later on."
__"Yeah, probably!" Sonia giggled. She then dusted her dress and straightened herself. "I'll have your money prepared for you to take every month. I really don't want to be rude, but..."
__"It's okay, we're siblings. We're supposed to be rude to each other," Sonic teased.
__"Whatever!" Sonia stuck her tongue out. "Anyway, I have other things to be working on. It was nice to see you, though. We need to hang out more."
__Sonic nodded and looked at Scourge. "That's about it then. Let's head out."
__Scourge just followed Sonic out of the castle while staying quiet.
__As much as Sonic understood why he was being quiet, he didn't like it. He wanted to encourage him to speak more, but he remembered what Tails had said. Know when you're diving in too deep. He didn't want to push Scourge too much. He had to take things slow, and he didn't like it. 
__They were walking down the sidewalk. People would stop and stare, but they didn't say anything. Sonic didn't really care either. He wasn't concerned with how everyone thought of him being with Scourge. He just wanted to make sure Scourge was comfortable. "Is there maybe something you've always wanted to do?" He asked Scourge with a big smile.
