Positives and Negatives {Sonourge}

EIGHTEEN

__Four days have passed and they still couldn't find the robot. Everyone who had been hiding around the area got tired of waiting. They all agreed to wait until the cameras found any signs of the robot in the area. The situation was making everyone nervous.
__Sonic was hugging his pillow while sitting on the bed. While Scourge was taking a shower, Sonic was pondering on what to do about his feelings for Scourge. He knew well now that he didn't just like Scourge as a friend. No matter how many times he denied it, it didn't change the way he felt. He couldn't deny it anymore. He loved Scourge. But he couldn't tell him no matter how much he wanted to. Scourge was focused on revenge for his deceased girlfriend, and it was very unlikely for Scourge to feel that way for a male.
__Sonic dug his face further in the pillow as he thought to himself. How can I let myself do this? How has my sexuality even changed so effortlessly? And why Scourge? Why did I fall in love with someone who used to be my enemy and lost his lover? This doesn't make sense! What am I supposed to do!? I can't tell him even after we destroy that robot. He doesn't even feel the same way. 
__There was knocking on the bedroom door. Sonic lifted his head off the pillow and set it back down. He calmed himself down before he got up and went to open the door. Scourge was standing there with his arms crossed. Sonic straightened as he placed both hands on his hips. "What's up?"
__Scourge pointed to the front door his thumb. "Yeah, someone's at the door, and I don't wanna be the one to answer it."
__Sonic nodded and went over to the front door. He opened it slowly and was shocked to see Shadow, Rouge, and E-123 Omega standing in front of him. Sonic didn't open the door all the way, so only they could only see his face. "What are you guys doing here?"
__Rouge was the one to step forward. Her expression showed she was annoyed. "We've been gone for a month, and what do we come back to? We find out people have been murdered! What the hell is going on!?"
__"I'm guessing you came to me first before Tails or Sally," Sonic concluded. "Yeah, there's a murderous robot that escaped from Eggman. It looks exactly like me and its been attacking animals and killing anyone it comes across."
__"No one we know has been killed, right?" Rouge asked.
__Sonic looked down at the ground. "Fiona was the first victim."
__"Fiona?" Rouge then took a step back and her wings twitched. "That fox that used to be a Freedom Fighter? She's dead!?"
__Sonic nodded. "Afraid so."
__Rouge then started rubbing her temples. "I don't even know why I'm asking, but what has come of Scourge then?"
__Sonic flattened his ears as he smiled awkwardly. "Funny story actually. Um...he's living with me."
__"What!?"
__Shadow had his arms crossed as he tilted his head. "Why is he living with you?"
__Sonic looked at Shadow. "I think you know better than anyone else that I'll help any person that needs it."
__Shadow just rolled his eyes.
__"So, there's a robot that looks like you and killing people," Rouge concluded.
__Sonic nodded. "And no, it's not Metal Sonic. This robot has three fingers on each hand and those fingers are like the shovel claws. It can also lure people to it somehow. We still don't how it's doing it."
__"Oh my," Rouge covered her mouth and flattened her ears. She then straightened herself and looked back at E-123 Omega. "Did you get all that?"
__"I have." The robot didn't move at all as it spoke. 
__"What do you plan on doing?" Sonic asked.
__"Helping of course!" Rouge responded brightly. "We'll help find and destroy the robot."
__"Just find it," Sonic said quickly. "Scourge will be the one to destroy it."
__Shadow snorted and started walking away with E-123 Omega following him.
__Rouge started backing away as she nodded. "Will do." She then turned around and ran after them.
__Sonic sighed and shut the door. "More help is coming by the minute," He muttered happily. He then walked over to sit next to Scourge on the couch. He could smell the soap Scourge had used, and it soothed him. He then quickly shook his head. Stop giving yourself ammunition! You're not making anything better!
__Scourge was focused on the T.V., which had the news playing on it. They were mainly talking about the weather and it seemed to bore Scourge. He groaned as he leaned back on the couch. "So, stripes and his small gang are gonna help us?"
__"Try to anyway," Sonic nodded. "I actually think Omega might be a big help."
__"How do you figure that?" Scourge narrowed his eyes at him.
__Sonic avoided eye contact and shrugged his shoulders. "'Cause he's also a bloodthirsty robot? I mean, he hasn't killed anyone. He just wants to eliminate Eggman real bad."
__"It's a robot. Why are you addressing it as him?"
__"Omega has free will," Sonic pointed out. "That's one mistake Eggman...made..." Sonic grabbed his chin and looked down. "That other robot may have free will, too. That's why it escaped."
__"How can a robot have free will?"
__"It can be programed. It's not something it gains on its own."
__Scourge sighed as he readjusted himself. He moved his body to where it faced Sonic and brought his legs up to hug them. He was looking straight into Sonic eyes. "Do you really think we can find that robot? It knows how to lure people in and it has been able to stay hidden too god damn well. How are we supposed to find it?" His eyes were gleaming in doubt and sadness.
__Sonic turned his whole body to face Scourge and brought up his own legs and sat on them. "Of course we'll find it. This isn't the first time I've had to track down an assassin. The only difference is that it's made of metal not flesh, but what does it matter? I promised you we would find it, and I won't stop until we do. I don't care how long it takes."
__Scourge didn't look convinced. "You say that now, but it'll get harder. I already see that it's impossible. You will, too."
__Sonic gritted his teeth and couldn't stop himself from hugging Scourge. He gripped him tightly. "Now stop that," He said promptly. "I keep my promises. I'm not giving up on you, you hear me? Don't you doubt me! I'll stop sleeping and keep on running if I have to!" He had no intention of letting Scourge go.
__Scourge didn't move or say anything for half a minute. After a while, he hugged Sonic backed tightly. He started trembling. "Why are you doing this for me? You could've let the Zone Cops take me away. You could've left me alone in the woods. What did I do to deserve your help?"
__Sonic closed his eyes and leaned his head onto Scourge's. "You didn't need to do anything. I'd help you no matter what. That's how much I care."
