Chapter 28: Graduation Day
Draine's Point of View
Month had passed since I've got my recovery. Paris is part of my history. This past few weeks I noticed my mom must have something to tell. Labis na rin kasi ang pagtataka ko sa status nilang dalawa ni Tito Steven. Palagi ko kasi silang nakikitang masayang nag-uusap sa kwarto ni mommy. But I should cut this out because I have to take my bath now.
Today is our Graduation Day, I can't wait myself holding my elementary diploma, wearing my silver medal. Sabik na akong tumungtong ng entablado kasama si Kuya Drake.
"Baby? Draine?" It's mom calling my name. "Just open the door, mom!" I shouted back. Mom opens the door and sat next to me.
"Draine, it's you and kuya's graduation day. Mommy is so happy for the both of you." Wika ni mommy na nakangiti sa harapan ko.
"Thanks, mom. Sayang nga po eh we didn't made it to the top." Giit ko.
It's 1.5 percent of our average ang gap namin ni Dwight, our Valedictorian. We've missed lot of quizes and activities that's why we only have weighted general average of 97.5. Kuya and me had taken the Salutatorian place.
"It's okay. There's always a next time. I always believe in you." Mom said and put her palm on my face. "Thanks, mommy. You're the best mom in the world!" I stand and scream out loud. Mom can't take her beautiful smiles off. She's always smiling at me.
"Go ahead, take your bath." Saad ni mommy sa'kin. "Okay, mommy." Ani ko.
"I will just remind your Kuya also." Saad ulit ni mommy at sabay tumayo na siya para lumabas. "Bye!" Habol nito.
Tumungo na ako sa banyo at binuksan ang shower. Tinanggal ko ang aking mga damit at masayang pinaglalaruan ang maginaw na patak ng tubig. I wash myself with soap and rinse my body at the same time. When I'm done, I catch the towel up at ipinahid ito sa basa kong katawan at pagkatapos ay ipinulupot muli ito.
Lumabas na ako ng CR para maghanap ng masusuot ko ngayon at makabihis na agad. Umupo na ako rito sa malaking salamin at naglagay na ng facial beauty sa mukha ko. I wear earings and next is my sandals. Okay na ang lahat si momny nalang ang hinihintay namin ngayon. Nagbibihis pa kasi siya.
"Congratulations, Drake and Draine." Nanay Rosa hugs me. "Pakiss nga sa mga matatalino kong alaga." Inilapit ko ang pisngi ko kay Manang Lory at sabay hinalikan ito. Ganoon din si Kuya Drake, nanay Lory kisses his left side cheek while Drake is playing.
Finally, Mom came down the stairs. At sa wakas makaka-alis na rin kami ngayon. Excited na akong makita 'yung mga kaibigan ko. Magsisimula na rin kasi ang Program ngayon kaya kailangan naming maka-abot sa school gym on time. Our driver drove the car quickly as what my mom told him. Kaya ngayon, in just 16 minutes of riding ay naka-abot na kami.
"Hey Draine!" Napalingon ako sa tumawag ng pangalan ko. Gumala ng tingin ang aking mga mata upang hanapin ang batang tumawag sa'kin. Sa dinami-rami ba naman kasi ng mga graduates dito.
"Brea! Leanne! Rose!" Sigaw ko sa kanila at sabay tumakbo papunta.
"We are looking for you kanina pa." Reklamo ni Brea. "Ba't kasi ang tagal mo?" Tanong naman ni Rose sa'kin na nakabaluktot 'yung dalawang kamay niya.
