Well that was awful. It had to happen sooner or later. Arsenal get to stop being worried about their invincibility being matched. A 44-game unbeaten run comes crashing to a deserved end. Who wants to be invincibles anyway?
Lovren had to replace Gomez over something hopefully VERY minor and of course he proved the twitter fume about him right. I was really hopeful for him but it wasn't to be.
It wasn't just him, everyone was really off, the crosses were all bad and in the end the only real chances we had was Salah hitting the side netting and Lallana the post from 25 yards. Even Alisson was at it,
He slid out to stop Deeney before spilling it back out, he eventually denies the Watford man before he clips a third attempt just wide.
It wasn't Deulofeu getting injured after a tangle with Van Dijk, although that was a big disruption to the first half or maybe Van Dijk felt the guilt of causing him to get injured.
Watford took the lead through Sarr. He pokes in a low cross inside the box. That was seconds after the commentators saying he'll score.
Watford made it 2-0 as Sarr goes streaking clear and shows great composure to lift it over Alisson.
Lallana on for Wijnladum.
Origi on for Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Troy Deeney has made it 3-0. After commentators said about him NOT scoring against top of the table teams. We can sometimes come back from 3-0 down but not tonight.
Takumi Minamino replaces Roberto Firmino. He tried, there seemed to be a lot more movement once he was on.
No beating the 18 wins in a row. Still 4 to go. I guess it serves us right for getting so obsessed with counting down. Stupid leap year day...
Next Chelsea away in the FA cup, Tuesday 3rd March 2020, 19:45.
We've got a bunch of bouncing back to do in the next few games.
