long story short, it took the twelve boys more than three hours to get changkyun to help them - they threatened him, begged, seungcheol even held a kitchen-knife to his throat.
but changkyun only gave in when he got a phone call from kihyun asking where he was and telling him that they had done something wrong. it took him at least half an hour to get everything out of his crying friend, but sooner or later they had the whole story. and it convinced changkyun to tell the twelve boys where chan was, he even said he would help.

everyone was relieved, but they also couldnt help but feel scared. what did kihyun say? why did changkyun agree so suddenly? did something happen to chan? what was going on?

too many question they would most likely never get the answers to. 

the next day, everyone - including changkyun - had met up at hansol's once more, since most of the other's parents were either home or - at least in mingyu's case - the smell of alcohol was too much to bear. so they settled for hansol's apartment and now they were here.

it was thirteen boys again, but the hole chan normally filled was still there. changkyun was actually pretty nice, at least for a criminal, and especially seokmin and jisoo bonded with him really quickly.

the two boys were inseperable as ever, seokmin clinging to jisoo and the older always snuggling up to him, hugging him or even giving him no-homo-kisses (at least that's what they told everyone, but in their own thoughts, that wasnt anything 'no-homo' anymore).
same went with hansol and seungkwan. something had changed between the two, the kiss they shared sparked something inside both of their hearts.
wonwoo and jihoon still continued to push soonyoung and mingyu away, acting cold and distant. through that, mingyu and soonyoung had kinda grown closer, sparking the older's jealousy but no one said anything, they just glared at each other, denying any feelings and hurting silently.
and then there were the unproblematic ones...the junhao couple was like they had just gotten together yesterday, always kissing and talking in chinese to each other; while jeonghan was always there to care for seungcheol, the oldest had taken chan's disappearing the hardest, feeling like he had let down the youngest. but with his angel's constant reassuring, he at least didnt feel like he was going to throw himself off a building any moment.

"so...uh..." changkyun awkwardly coughed. the phone-call with kihyun hadn't left his mind ever since, but now that he was going to actually do something, he felt very awkward. in some way, it was his fault, plus, he felt lonely in-between all those love stories and shared kisses. 
but there was nothing left for him anyways, he might as well do it.

"i know where chan is...but...uh...it's gonna be really hard to get him back. kihyun called me to tell me that something- something had happened. if you want chan to get out of there alive, then we're running out of time."

the boy stood up abruptly, a silent tear running down his left cheek. his voice was shaky, but he took a deep breath and smiled a pained smile.

"we need kihyun to help us...and he wont live that much longer. he told me yesterday - he has cancer. final stage, nothing to do anymore. the doctors told him he doesnt have more than a month - and that was around 30 days ago. so we better hurry up... before-before he's gone..."

"oh", jisoo whispered sadly, everyone else looked equally shocked and sad. sure, they didnt know kihyun really, he was more like the one guy who was partly guilty of chan's kidnapping. but yet, they felt sad. how horrible must this feel for changkyun? they didnt know, maybe he was just like them, a boy without a family. and now, his only friend was going to leave him alone soon.

"then...let's meet ki-kihyun and discuss everything, shall we?", junhui asked into the sad silence. changkyun nodded, followed by minghao and seokmin. the others were still too shocked.

"...and that's when you jump into action. i'll distract him, and changkyun gets chan out of there, okay?"

seokmin nodded, glancing at kihyun in front of him. truly, he looked like someone who was dying. hollow cheeks, empty eyes and trembling hands. but still, he held his head up high and did his best to look 'normal'. healthy.

their plan was farely simple but effective, as kihyun swore. kihyun would go to meet up with wonho, accomanied by half of the twelve boys, while seokmin and his group - consisting of minghao, jisoo, hansol and seungkwan - would be following in secret to make sure everyone stayed safe. and lastly, it would be changkyun's job to get chan out of there. he had asked to be allowed to take over the most important part and after a few discussions, they had agreed.

their plan was all set and ready to be carried out.
