My willingness to leave the house today was truly beyond me. Sorry, let me rephrase—the willingness I showed to visit Griffin was truly beyond me. Yep. Better.

As I stood in the door, waiting for Her Majesty to open up, I thought about running off and back home one too many times. But Nadine had this insane plan where she'd get her best friend and I to get along so we wouldn't kill each other whenever we'd be in the same room.

The random idea to visit her was a little dramatic to me since I felt like I spent more time with the witch than I have with my girlfriend. She hasn't even been back a whole day yet and somehow, everything was already all about her. I always said that if someone couldn't hold their drink, then they shouldn't drink at all.

So, now, we sat in the living room I have only ever stepped inside of twice and meanwhile everyone was busy chatting, I was much too focused on trying to find a way to get myself out of the situation. I mean, I guess I could always pull the 'I'm needed somewhere else' excuse or the 'I'm not feeling so good' but my girl would see right through me.

Fuck's sake. The things I put myself through for her. She really was trying to soften me up so she could hang out with me and her best friend at the same time and I was just... going along with it.

"I have an event to plan for one of my units this year so I would love it if you guys could come," Nadine's voice brought me back to the real world. Her body leaned against me and my left arm rested on the back of the couch. I sighed and pushed myself a little more up, making her move with me.

"The fact that you already know that is stressing me out," Griffin laughed as she indicated that she already feels behind. To be fair, Nadine liked to get things done early and get a head start against everyone else. It worked for her and she loved being in control of everything she was doing so it didn't even surprise me. Plus, she mentioned that she already started planning some things since she's done a bit of reading on what they'll be doing in class.

Nadine was doing Events Management since she wanted to work in that area. From what she told me, she's always been interested in making things happen and helping others was something that was built into her, so, it made sense.

Me, on the other hand, had no clue what I'd end up doing with my life so simply applying for International Business Management seemed like a sweet choice at the time. I was only eighteen when I applied for university, I didn't know any better. Plus, you can do whatever you want with a business degree, the fact that it's from an international angle, makes it all the more exciting, right?

"What about you, lad?"

"Hey?" I quickly turned my head towards Wesley, completely zoned out. I did not listen to a single word they were talking about. I was smashed from last night and not in the mood to be socialising.
