Family hurting you was different to any other kind of pain.
In my case, it definitely stung a lot more than I thought it would. Feeling disgusted from the inside as the emotion washed through me, I also felt scared. Genuinely terrified of what had been revealed to me. Worst part of it? The news did not come from my cousin's mouth—no. It came from Harry. He was the one who figured it out and he seemed as shocked and sickened as I did.
Half of the things I asked and the answers for everything, came back to me hours after. Once it felt like everything had been explained, I left with Harry and went to his place. I didn't want to stay at the flat. It reminded me too much of Callum and it was impossible to bear.

"I asked you a question," I repeated myself, walking down the steps until I reached the kitchen. Feeling Harry's eyes burn my skin, I stood before him so my cousin was forced to look at me. "Answer it, for fuck's sake!"
"Yes. I had ulterior motives," he spoke, keeping his eyes focused on mine. He did not blink. He did not move. "I knew that you could take us to her. But that wasn't the only reason I allowed you to go."
"Whatever you have to say about that, will not take away from the fact that you used me," I said, shaking my head as the anger bubbling inside of me was becoming difficult to control. "Why would you toy around with me like this? Is it because I'm easy to use? Because I can be controlled by emotions? I know that the lot of you are incapable of feeling remorse unless it's regarding your own kind."
"Controlling you wasn't my intention. Using you also wasn't in the cards," he defended himself or his side. Didn't matter which he was backing, they were the same in my eyes now. "When I found out you were after Nadine, I cleaned up the traces you left behind because I knew you wouldn't want any harm to come to her."
"Oh, wow, what a great person you are!"
"You were hellbent on finding her so it became an opportunity that I saw and took. The attack only happened once you had your chance to speak to her because that was your goal. I didn't want to take it away from you."
"Because taking her away from me was much better, huh?" I screamed at him. "Yes, I spoke to her and we made up, alright! That doesn't mean I wanted it to end there—she was trying to tell me she wanted me back in her life. We were going to work through things. You took that away from me!"
"You know that you never would've been allowed to be around her. Not unless you switched sides—which, I know you don't need reminding of but, never would've happened without your head hitting the ground first."
