It turned out the only lost soul left in London was Ollie Matthews. Barely found it shocking when he invited me for a hot chocolate because it had been a long while since we hung out. Mostly, it happened when alcohol was involved and during the night so having a hot beverage with him during the day was definitely a change. One that I reckon I needed more than the idea appealed to me.

Since university ended, I've been holed up at home, painting, eating, crying, putting off doing my work, worrying about my future more than anything else that was under my control. It wasn't anything new to me since the life I lived was pretty basic with the odd element of surprise here and there. My cousin was currently in Scotland and my plans still did not include travelling home so that pretty much left me without any human interaction.

London was cold. Bitter cold. The kind of cold that made your bones chatter, your skin feel bumpy from all those sudden winds that made you wish you stayed in bed. It turned your cheeks bright red, your nose feel as though it went numb. Not to mention the tip of your ears, feeling like they could burn off from being so exposed in such weather conditions.

Stepping inside the café made my glasses fog up and body begin to unfreeze, warming up the icy joints. It felt nice to be in that environment, not many people filling the tables since quite a lot of students still had classes. My faculty always started breaks before anyone else.

"GW in the building!" Ollie put his hands in front of his mouth as he whisper-shouted his usual line the same time I got closer to him. It made me shake my head, laughing as I pulled out the chair and put the coat on the back of it. He was always so filled with energy and life, it was honestly a nice change to be around him. He was crazy but the kind that I desperately needed around me. "How you doing? Y'alright? Look a bit frozen up, there, love."

"It's cold as fuck, what did you expect?" I chuckled. "I'm good. You?"

"Absolutely bored out of my fucking head," he laughed as his accent came out stronger than he usually lets on. "Ordered you a hot chocolate. Some extra whipped cream, too."

"You know me," I nodded, leaning back in my chair. I put my foot on the leg of the table, my arms crossed. "So, how are things? How's life? Are you still single?"

"Woah, chill, would you?" he joked. "I finish uni this week but I'm basically the last one out of all my mates."

"Me included?" he nodded. "Wow. They work you, don't they?"

"Can't even touch me, babe," he added the cocky comment, making me giggle. "As for your most burning question, yes. I am, in fact, still single. Though, your use of 'still'... GW, that hurt."

"I do apologise, kind Sir."

"Thank you. I appreciate that," he wiped away the non-existent tear from his cheek. "Speaking of relationships... is goody-Nadine really getting with some other lad on the side?"
