Allowing my words to sit in the air for a short moment, was enough to change Harry's posture, making him go from slouched to a firmer position. His chest pushed out and his back straight, he cleared his throat, blinking repeatedly. The blood drained from his face, causing his skin to resemble a snowy, Winter morning. No genius mind needed to be present to figure out that the thought entering his head, was entirely different to mine.
Although it piqued my curiosity as it gave me the same feeling James' reaction did yesterday, the things we've already discussed felt enough for one day. In all honesty, dealing with more than what we already revealed would've been too much.
So, I let it go.
For now.
"Katherine mentioned that you are quite interested in what happened between me and the guy I've dated for a while," my words visibly confused him the way it also calmed him down. His back slouched again, chuckling under his breath as he thought he got away with something. Making a mental note of his suspicious attitude, I knew I'd dig as deep as I had to, to figure out what this was all about.
"Well, I was wondering about it, yes," he nodded along, revealing that it was, indeed, true. "But you don't owe it to me to tell me about it. Unless, it has something to do with me. Then, I want to know about it."
"Here I thought you'd jump on the opportunity and flood me with questions about it," the teasing comment left him chuckling whilst a grin spread over my lips. "If not, then all the better for me."
"Okay, wait, hold on," he put his hand in the air, laughing and leaning away from me. Of course, he was curious. He would've been a fool to not be curious. The thought of me being in a relationship was just as amusing to me as it was to him. "How did you even find him?"
"Went on eBay and ordered myself a copy," I shrugged and he shook his head. "Honestly, he just asked me out one day and I was like shit, okay, let's go."
Harry's eyes widened in shock, still looking at me with nothing but entertainment swimming in his forest eyes.
"Just like that?"
"Just like that," I nodded.
"So, why is it taking me so long?" he asked.
"It's not like you ever asked me on a date, is it?" silence. "Exactly."
"Well, I just—I don't know. I assumed you didn't want that?" he tried to explain himself, giving me excuses which were farther from the truth than he could've thought.
"Which part gave you the idea?" I asked, snickering as I continued. "Was it when I spent most of my Christmas holiday hanging out with you? Or was it when we had sex at your sister's birthday?"
