Stirring awake to the feel of gentle kisses being peppered all over my skin, a content smile curled on my lips. It went from ear to ear, deepening into my cheeks as the dimples darkened the soft flesh. Not daring to open my eyes as I enjoyed the soft touches, the morning couldn't have opted for a better start.
I preferred this to all grumpy, sad mornings when either of us would wake from a soul shaking nightmare, originating from all those horrible things we both had to endure.
Turning on my side in a swift motion, the bed moved and creaked under my weight. Cosying into the duvet, pushing my hand under the pillow to lift my head slightly, my lips puckered, begging for a kiss. Griffin chuckled as she leaned closer and pressed a quick peck on my mouth, my eyes opening slowly. And there she was—looking at me from a little higher as she positioned herself on her stomach. Catching speckles of glitter on her cheeks and a gentle black line creased under each of her eyes, made me reach up and brush my thumb across the areas. Last night's makeup didn't quite come off her face, no matter how much effort she put into cleaning it.
My body absolutely ached as I weighed into the mattress, feeling lazy and not at all motivated to leave the bed. Heavy pounding of the rain came to my attention, the gloomy skies looking back at me through the window where the blinds did not reach.
I had a whole day planned for us because I wasn't sure how long I could keep the good news to myself. Thinking of a way to deliver it, took some time and so, having to change it would've made me very upset.
Taking a hold of her hand and gently tugging her closer, she had no other option but to fall on me as she lost her balance. Chuckling as I hugged her to me, her body was over my chest as I laid on my back. After I managed to push all of her hair out of my mouth, my hand rested on the back of her neck and she continued to complain about how uncomfortable this position was.
"I have some plans for us," I shared the news, speaking properly for the first time that morning. I could tell I surprised her with those words because she looked at me curiously, wondering what on earth I could've planned. She's been suspicious of me for a while now because she caught onto what I was doing. When she asked, I denied everything.
"You always seem to have plans for us lately," she murmured, giving me the same sceptical eyes. Resulting to a smirk and no other answer, Griffin groaned and put her head back on my chest.
"I don't know why you're complaining."
"I'm not!" she denied. "You just never tell me what we're doing—what if I planned something for us? Or if I'm busy?"
"You have been busy with the club so I know you have no time to focus on us," I explained and also indicated that, therefore, I took matters into my own hands. "Plus, you'll always have time to plan for us. We're not running out of it."
