Rey trained as Ben's padawan for many years all the while searching for her parents in the force and returning to Jakku once a year.
Around the time Rey turned eighteen she finally got her answer. She felt everything: the betrayal, the knife as it went through them, and the love they felt for her in their dying moments. They loved her, but they were never coming back. she fell to her knees and cried. Everything she endured, every day she had spent waiting, and they were never coming. She was alone alone there and no one was coming for her. Suddenly, there was a knocking on the door to her chambers.
"Rey, Can I come in?" It was Ben. She didn't want him to see her like this. "I can tell you're not ok. Please let me in." Rey sniffled.
"Come in." Ben stood in the door frame a look of shock on his face.
"What happened?"
"I know what happened to my parents." Tears streamed from her eyes as the door closed behind him. "They were killed. Stabbed in the back not long after they left me." Her voice grew louder. "I waited there for years believing they were coming!" Ben walked across the room and hugged her. "They were never coming." The words were barely a wispier her voice raw with emotion. "I was so alone."
"You're not alone. Not anymore. I'm right here." Rey cried into his tunic. In that moment he stoped seeing her as the little girl he had saved on Jakku, his feelings for her deepened, he wanted to protect her, he wanted hold her. He loved her.
"I know I'm not alone. Thank you Ben." Rey steeped back wiping her face with her hands. She smiled her eyes still puffy. "I'm here for you to, you're not alone either."
