I sometimes would have a hard time getting into one or more of the characters head spaces for a scene so here are some of the songs I used to get a feel for these characters.
When it came to character arcs, Ben's anthem for most of the story was Let Me Make You Proud from Tangled the Series and Rey's was Drift Away from the Steven Universe Movie.
In chapter 4 one song that I listened to a lot was Come Home with Me from Hadestown.
In chapter 5, I was inspired by Guy That I'd Kind of be Into from Be More Chill, for Ben as He is coming to terms with his feelings. I used both Drift Away and Found, also from the Steven Universe Movie, to describe Rey's feelings in that scene.
When Han discovers their relationship I used Let Me Make You Proud.
With chapter 10 I was completely stumped on how to begin. I used Isn't it Love? from the Steven Universe Movie to describe how Ben and Rey were feeling and I used Through it All from Tangled the Series to describe the general feeling of the scene.
For the wedding I used Come Home with Me and For Just One Day Let's Only Thin About (Love) from Steven Universe, to help me get a feel for how I wanted to write those chapters.
As Rey's nightmares began to start I used Drift Away and also Distant Shore, from Steven Universe, to get an idea for how her fear of abandonment might come across.
During her time on Exegol, I used the song Escapism, also from Steven Universe, to inspire both the feelings of longing and loneliness.
As Ben leaves the order and then goes in search of the way-finder I used the songs: I'd Give Anything from Tangled the Series and Wait for Me from Hadestown.
During the battle of Exegol, Rey's song was Monster from Frozen the Musical. I used Nothing Left to Lose, from Tangled the Series, to inspire the emotions and some of the dialogue for that fight.
I used Here Comes a Thought, from Steven Universe, for the last chapter, and Everything Stays, from Adventure Time, for the Epilogue.
