Rey awoke in Ben's arms. She smiled filled with joy, and yet far underneath it a strange sense of dread. Ben yawned.
"Good morning." He placed a kiss on her cheek. "Did you sleep ok?"
"Yeh. Why do you ask?"
"You cried out in your sleep last night."
"Oh. It must have been the nightmare of my parents dying." She shrugged. "It was probably nothing."
It was not nothing. It started as just a feeling of dread that never seemed to go away.
"Your pulling you punches." Ben said as he attacked Rey with a training staff.She grunted as he disarmed her.
"Sorry. I guess I'm just a little out of it." She took his hand. "Let's try again tomorrow." Ben looked at her unsure, but he decided to let it go.
It only got worse from there. The dreams started off seeming like just a battle taking place inside a storm but always ended with defeat and death. Rey grew more restless.
"Where are you going? Your alarm hasn't gone off yet." Rey forced a smile.
"I know. I just wanted to get a jump on the day."
"Ok." As Rey left his room Ben fidgeted with his ring. He felt some remorse that he had to wear it on a leather chord around his neck. Maybe it was just the secrecy that was bothering her.
